I had laparscopic umbilical surgery nearly 4 weeks ago with I 5 incisions and have terrible pain by above belly button to the left side near the suture of the larges incision. I have pulling ripping pain. And burning pain and sensitive skin in that area for many hours after a bowel movement. I feel like something is terribly wrong but my doctor says I have to wait for six weeks before he will do a scan.
I had a 5.cm hernia repair that was ill-advised; I did not understand the surgery. I have nasal valve collapse that I failed to disclose to the surgeon and while I was breathing well before surgery, I find my breathing worse as the skin as contracted to sit around sutures. Can I do anything to ease my diaphragm movement w/the sutures, in the same way muscles aren't plicated too tightly after a tummy tuck? I wish I could have the belly button suture coil taken out altogether. #breathing #hernia.
Pimple/pus arnd absorbable stitch in belly button.Main wound incision is closed, this is just above. Scar healed normally but I am hot & uncomfortable. Pus it not oozing. I am only able to see my surgeon once a month and I just saw him. This started today. Can I go to my GP or another surgeon? Can I pop this myself? #umbilical hernia surgery #belly button #abscess #dissolvable stitches
I had an umbilical hernia repair w/sutures. Surgeon told me he'd make a 1 inch incision and repair the defect w/one stitch. Instead he flipped my belly button skin inside out, turned my deep innie into an outtie, and left extraordinarily painful sutures there. It also looks like he moved my belly button up. He never communicated this, said umbilical hernia repair would be simple and non-invasive. Why isn't the actual risk cosmetic & internal risk of this communicated to patients? The sutures in my umbilicus are incredibly painful 1 mth out
As title says, umbilical hernia repair 4 weeks ago with mesh. I've felt the lump back for the last 1.5 weeks. Feels the same as pre-surgery. Looks normal though other than the lump as if I never had surgery. It goes in and out if i press it. The pain is very minimal. Is it a recurrence or something else? I called the surgeon he says not to worry but I feel like that's what they always say...
I am 3-4 weeks post opp. No mesh, healing fine. This week the scar began getting itchy. It is kind of puffed up and continues to get more itchy. Is this the beginning of an infection on the inside or under scar? Also I am 30 weeks pregnant, with a 10 month old. Holding her may have exceeded lifting limit along with rubbing the incision. If infected can it affect or be affecting my unborn baby? And should I consider this to be an emergency room visit since its the weekend ?
