I have very little muscle seperation, each consultatuon I have had the Dr.'s say the same thing that I really dont need the MR. My questtion is, can the muscle repair ever do more harm than good? Also, would lipo to the flanks actually make much of a difference in giiving me a more hourglass shape? Thank you all for helping answer so many questions on this site
I cannot wear 'regular' clothing yet and still need to wear some type of compression. I'm concerned that I have some kind of damage to my lymphatic system at this point because it does not appear to be changing. Everything I have read indicates I should be passed this already. Should I consult some type of lymphatic specialist at this point? I did go to a lymph massage specialist from month 4 to month 6. Three months later and I'm still in the same position. Help!
I went back to the gym at my 11 week mark.I did resume light exercise at 6 weeks however arthritis in my knee put a halt to that.I did 10 sprints at an incline several lunges at an incline, light weights and jogged(went to the gym Mon & Tue). That was two days ago and I feel swollen both in my lower and upper part of my abdomen and have some discomfort(not too painful)I'm worried that I over did it and might have caused some damage. Is that a possibility this far out of my surgery?
Can I get a tummy tuck and still play competitive full-contact sports with no pain or fear of damage? (Never had children, this procedure is to remove loose skin from having been overweight for birth to age 18.) Some of the doctors I've met have describe suturing muscles to create internal corsets as part of the procedure where others have not mentioned so much of this. Would one of these options be better than the other in terms of playing sports? Thank you for your time and help.
Hi. I am now about 13-14 weeks post op from a full TT w/ muscle repair. For about 2-3 days I have had some allergies and have been coughing on and off. Not hard and just hear and there coughing fits. My question is, at this point being 13-14 weeks out, can I damage the muscle repair or pop sutures? The coughing is moderate and just from an itchy throat. Thank you.
I am 3 weeks post op and have something unusual happening. When I wake up in the morning, I have my abs completely tensed. Im not sure if Im pushing them out, sucking them in, or if they are just rigid. But it feels uncomfortable and extreme. Im so scared that Im damaging the surgery, but I cant control it. Everything looks good from the outside.
During the second week of tummy tuck recovery, I felt a slight strain on one side of my abdominals when I mistakenly tried to adjust my recliner by myself. Ever since, that side has felt sensitive - as if I can feel the muscle is inflamed or somehow slightly out of place. There is no change in my profile. What could have happened? Will that side heal differently? What can I do? Could I have done damage that I can't see?
I had a DIEP in 2012 as a result of breast cancer. I have had increasing loss of sensation in my lower abdomen, upper thighs and bladder and bowel incontinence. I am experiencing sexual (clitoral lack of feeling). When I urinate cannot feel the urine exit. NOW, hip (both but especially the LEFT hip) that is horrible. Physical Therapy twice a week for week hip and leg muscles after xrays confirmed my hips looked normal. I am realizing it could be damage from the DIEP (abdominoplasty.
