I will like to have a tummy tuck done, but on some of the sites, doctors say they do not do procedures on patients with lupus, I dont have lupus, just unknown antibodies in my blood with no reason behind it.
as a child and teen I had a skin limited variation of generalized morphea. Its been over a decade since the disease has been active. Now as an adult Id like to have a tummy tuck and arm lift. Can this be done safely?. Any doctors with experience performing surgery on those in remission for autoimmune disorders or doctors with experience treating morphea? Side note Ive never had a rheumatologist, pain or tightness associated with my morphea. It mostly looks like lots of birthmarks.
I had a umbilical hernia repair with mesh a year ago and I am planning of getting a tummy tuck early next year. I do believe my mesh is causing issues (not pain) but more autoimmune issues. Would my mesh automatically be removed during the tummy tuck? If it's is removed what would this mean for my hernia? Is the significantly more dangerous of a surgery? Does recovery take longer? I'm terrified to keep he mesh in but I'm terrified at the process of taking it out as well.
I have celiac disease and an autoimmune condition call multifocal choroiditis. I do not take any drug for either of these. I've had one Avastin injection in the last year (in Jan). Would simply having autoimmune disease complicate surgery? Could surgery trigger any sort of issues?
