After much research and special pricing I did it. I had 2 syringes of Voluma, 1 on each side. I also had 1 syringe of Juvederm Ultra XC in the nasio labial folds. I could have used a little more there. I also had 40 units of Botox. The Botox won't show improvement for a couple days. I will update in a few days. I'm a little sore in my cheeks. Taking Tylenol and putting an ice pack on them. It is a pretty subtle change. Can you guys tell a difference?

Looks good. I had the same done today. Mine is swollen, hard, firm. Is yours swelling at all? Mine is getting worse over the course of the day. Hopefully less in a few days.

Yes mine is swelling a lot. I can feel hard areas too. They feel like a gummy worm under the skin. I have been using arnica and it works wonders for the bruises and pain. Does yours hurt? My cheeks are very tender today. I will post a picture in the morning.

Mine don't hurt. I think I have high tolerance for pain. Just don't like the dark circles it's creating under my eyes. Not sure if bruising or shadows from the swelling along my nose that runs up to inner eye area. I don't have any arnica pills but been putting on arnica gel. Are you taking the pills?
October 11, 2014
I'm using the arnica gel.

i have darkness under my eyes but i think it's shadows, not bruising. arnica gel might help my swelling though.

I now have hollows under my eyes from the voluma, because it is placed high in the cheekbones and seems to create a shelf

yes, but it will go down some and the shelf will go away. mine is mostly gone, 3 weeks tomorrow.

Actually it's been nine months and it is still very much there. This is just not a product I would use again. It changed the shape of my face in an unflattering way. I never had "apples" in my Cheeks when I was younger and it looks silly now. I usually have juvederm ultra pluse placed laterally into the cheekbone which looks awesome. I will go back to that.

Sorry to hear that. Do you have any photos we can see?
October 22, 2014
It is really subtle; however, it looks really nice.
October 22, 2014
Which was your previous comment or if this is the first---what "is really subtle..." Which products did you use. I'm trying to decide what the advantages of Voluma are over Juvaderm other than length of time? Anyone have experience with both and can compare for me, please? Other difference--- PRICE!
October 22, 2014
Would you have substituted the Juvederm for the Voluma if you could? My doctor wants to do the same thing yours did--2 Voluma in cheeks, 2 Juvederm elsewhere. Does the difference justify the difference in cost? Voluma is so much more expensive and I don't care about the added time given before another round is due.

So far not a big fan of the voluma settling time. i have had juvederm and restalyn in lips and wrinkles with no smoothing out time. instant results. voluma needs 2-4 weeks to smooth out. i'm almost at week 2 with some bumps. maybe cheeks are different? not sure but i hope it lasts 2 years at the price it costs.

UPDATED FROM dorganek
2 days post

Pillow Face.

dorganek
It has been 2 days and it is too puffy for me. I hope it is just still swollen and this is not the end result.

no, not pillow face. i think it looks good. mine doesn't look like anything. you probably have definite swelling though, i do. 1 vial each side didn't do much for my cheeks even with the swelling. see my before and after.

2 days after is the classic time for seeing swelling, however I think you look great there and not at all swollen.
October 20, 2014
I think the reason it might look "puffy" is they didnt inject any into your temples so it might have thrown off normal facial contours a bit. It will go down....Voluma isn't water binding like alot of HA fillers and if ever you want it gone, get a non ablative laser treatment like Fraxel! You'll improve the skin plus decrease the filler at the same time!!

Any updates? Is your volume smoothing out yet? Mine is still somewhat lopsided. Seems more on 1 side than the other.
