Welp I have been looking at so many B4 and after photos I just really don't know at this point. I'm so nervous that i wont be 100% satisfied with my results, I have this flap of fat that i'm praying will be gone post op day one. Many people are saying I should do regular lipo but i just cant afford that plus what ever procedures or treatments are required after. I've gone to one consultation with Sonobello and was quoted 6K their b4 & after pics on the website just did not give me confidence in their work. Not because it didn't look good but because non of the bellies looked liked mine. Of course at the consult she swore they worked on bellies with my degree of fat before.. So i started searching again an came across American Lipo center, now there pics gave me hope, although i'm still feeling skeptical i have set up a consult for Feb 4th. Wish me luck. Please comment with questions that i should ask . THank you ..

From what I've seen here on RealSelf, it looks like doctors vary significantly in how aggressive they are willing to go with their lipo. Some seem to just remove a little here and there, to shape, while others are willing to remove several liters of fat! Without a picture, we have no idea what you are working with, but make sure whomever you go to is willing to tell you how much they are willing to remove and what they think they're likely to do for you. Most doctors are limited to 5 liters, I think; some less than that. I've seen one doctor who says they remove 7000 ccs. I don't know if they're all using the same measurements, though. And maybe you only need a few hundred cc's removed--everyone is willing to do that.

Have you checked to make sure that your surgeon has all their credentials (American Board of Plastic Surgery is the one to check for)? Some places have assistants doing the work, though I don't know which places those are. A talented and experienced doctor will be able to get great results with any type of lipo--but the opposite is also true!

It depends on the state how many liters. In NYS the max is 7 liters. In Florida it's 4L but if they perform the surgical procedure in a hospital it's 7. FYI 1L=1000CC's. and vice versa. I will be going to American Lipo centers in NYC for a consult in the late summer. I am still only 3mos post BBL so it's too soon to have surgery for another few months.

Ahhh, so it varies by state! That makes sense, I guess :D. What I meant by different measurements is that it seems like some just tell you how many cc's total they've removed, including the tumescent fluid they injected! While others only tell you how much fat, estimating from the yellow liquid part in the container. Continued happy healing to you, so you can make that consult in the summer! xoxo

Welp guys I've booked my procedure for Feb 13th. At my consult I was offered a mini tuck bc of the extra skin I have.. I was unable to afford that add on so Dr. Singer stated he wld do his best to get as much fat removed as he cld but my skin elasticity was based on my body which wld determine if tht flap of skin wld tighten or not, I'm hoping it does .. I will post post op day 1.. I've already purchased my after care garment stage two not stage one because I just refused to spend 75 dollars on something for three weeks.. Also the doctor encouraged me to get the garment in my current size which i also did not do bc again I refused to spend money knowing I'd be losing weight so I orderd in a large although I needed an XL.. welp wish me luck..

So exciting!!! Good luck--I hope you manage to use the garment :).

You should be able to get a lot of improvement and look great in your dress, even if your skin doesn't tighten. As long as you go in with realistic expectations, you should be very pleased. Some of our smart lipo'ers who were offered TTs and didn't take them were still very pleased and look fantastic, even with a little extra skin. At least you won't have the scar (which I have, I had a full TT :)).

Ok so why am I dreaming of this procedure almost every night. Did any one else experience this? I mean its like i'm having pregnancy dreams. In the lipo dreams the results are worst then when I entered , my procedure is totally botched or im like a totally diff person getting my entire body done , and the fat consumes me. These dream are horrible. I really need to calm down.

That happened to me, too. Especially right before my big mommy makeover. But even after the lipo, I had super-weird dreams about it. It would be a good idea if you could calm down, but I'm guessing that after a week, you'll be too tired to worry as much. Maybe you'll get a couple of weeks of respite, then the worrying might increase again the week before you go. Have you gotten all your supplies together and made sure there are no logistical worries? Just so that the only possible worries left are from the actual procedure?
