Amazing Experience - She is the Best!

I wanted to come on here and write a review for my labiaplasty with a slight hood reduction just because of how seamless and life changing this whole experience has been. I'm like a lot of women who've debated getting this surgery done for 10+ years and finally went threw with it. I asked for a natural looking result and still wanted to "recognize myself when I looked down there". I didn't want as much as possible taken away, just enough so that everything was tucked in. I'm one week post op now and I genuinely love the results already and feel so happy that I did it. I cannot recommend her or the procedure enough!

Doctor Experience: I chose Dr.Poucher bc I wanted a board certified, female OBGYN. I know there's a lot of amazing surgeons out there, but my priority was to have a doctor who specialized in female anatomy first, then/and aesthetics. With that being said, Courtenay really is the perfect blend of both those things. I felt I could trust her with my body and trust her with the "look" that I was going for. Her photos really speak for themselves and that's what pushed me to schedule my initial consultation. She and her staff are also incredibly kind and patient. I'm the client who will ask a million questions and they were extremely nice about taking the time to answer every one. She sat down and talked everything over with me until I was completely comfortable and ready. Her actual technique and method for the surgery made me feel really confident! Lastly, their pre and post-op care is top notch and was also a big deciding factor for choosing them.

The actual surgery: I'm 27 and the biggest baby when it comes to getting things like this done. I dread every part of it, but felt super at ease in their office given what was happening. I had numbing cream and an anti-anxiety medication that made everything a breeze. I HATE needles and barely felt any of the numbing injections at all, so if you're worried about that part...dont be. It was seriously nothing. I was awake for the whole thing and just watched Netflix. I cried more getting my blood drawn for this than the actual procedure.

Post-Op: I'm one week post op and will continue to update when I can. This is a very individual experience obviously, but I have been shocked at how well everything's been going! Immediately after, I was able to go up and downstairs (carefully), walk around and pee with zero pain which I was not expecting. I was prescribed three hyrdos (optional) and then 800mg Ibuprofen as well. I did use all the hydros within the first 24 hours, mostly bc I was afraid of a sudden onset of pain, but it probably wasn't 100% necessary in my case. I'm glad I had them as an option anyway. From there, I was taking Ibuprofen as prescribed. I was taking them for the first 6 days and I think it helped a lot with swelling. On days 2-3 I went out to dinner with friends (no drinking) and felt good. That being said, I didn't like being on my feet for more than 10-15 minutes for the first couple days. The swelling would just get to a point that was uncomfortable (not painful at all) and I'd want to reach for the ice pack. So I'd basically go straight to my chair if I was out or be preparing myself food at home and getting straight back in bed with my legs elevated on a pillow. I've tried to follow her instructions as much as possible and I think that has really overall..i.e sleeping with my legs elevated on a pillow or on my side with it bw my legs, ice for 20 min on, off, then back on, 2-3 times a day. I also haven't been drinking and am making sure to eat super healthy just to further support the healing (turmeric supplements, arnica, probiotics). I woke up this morning (day 7) and was so so happy with how much the swelling has gone down. It's hard to believe it's going to continue on from here just because I'm already so much happier with how everything's looking. It obviously fluctuates with movement throughout the day, but I have a good idea with how it will end up looking.

The hardest part of all has actually been nothing to do with my healing. It's been getting my period this first week and not being able to exercise. I'm an athlete, so I'm dying to get moving again. Dr.Poucher did say I'd be able to do some brisk walking by next week and I can't wait for that. For my period, it sucked! I knew it would be coming this week (day after surgery), but I wasn't able to schedule the surgery at any other time for months, so I just dealt with it. They were nice enough to give me a pair of Thinxx underwear when I left the office and this was by far the best option of anything available. I went out and bought two more pairs to get through it. It just sucked having anything rub against the area and felt gross. So, avoid this if you can! I highly recommend more spandex like or polyamide material for underwear vs cotton if you have to wear it.

Another thing I was really concerned about and felt like I hardly saw anyone talk about in reviews was flying! I thought getting through the airport and dealing with any bumps on the plane and landing would be rough. Again, zero problems. I waited 5 days to fly and am glad I did. I could have done it in fewer, but it was nice to have had more rest. I flew out of a smaller airport, had no issues walking to and from my gate and felt fine sitting on the plane. I usually like to walk a lot in airports, but obviously I did as little as possible. I only needed someone to help lift my carry on into the overhead bin. By day 6, I was back to work. I'm mostly sitting for my job and after about 4 hours I want to ice again, but it's not unbearable by any means.

Healing is still going really well. Swelling is definitely fluctuating as expected, so i'm taking ibuprofen here and there to help with it. I had an active weekend and woke up this morning to it being swollen. I've also started going back to the gym which influences the swelling, but a little bit of that is worth it imo if it means I can get some energy out. Just taking it easy on stretches and certain activities. I did try to go for a run last week and stopped after one block lol. Glad I tried, but my body is definitely not ready for that. Switched it out for the elliptical at the gym and had no issues.

I'm really thankful that I genuinely have not experienced any pain with the whole experience. Just managing everything now and using the scar scream that my doc provided twice a day. I can't see any of my stitches when I look down there which is amazing. Everything is hidden

Have resumed all normal activities and couldn't be happier. I'll try to upload photos in the next week to show where it's at now. It looks extremely natural and what I wanted. I do notice that I still have some fluctuations with swelling here and there depending on what I've done, but it is nowhere near where it was a few months ago.

Again, I couldn't recommend her or the procedure enough. It's majorly boosted my confidence and overall comfortability.
