Oops, We Implanted the Wrong One's - Jacksonville, FL
ORIGINAL POST
Dr. Palin did my first breast aug. April 11, 2011....
$3,800
Dr. Palin did my first breast aug. April 11, 2011. I cried when the bandages were removed. They didn't have the projection I anticipated. 3 months post op and my breast have dropped dramatically, the scars were half way up the implant and the nipple on the left breast was on the edge of the implant. Both had migrated. Pre-op Dr. Palin and myself agreed 600cc's High Profile would be best. Upon reviewing my medical chart I discovered that he had implanted 600cc's Moderate profile. Upon hearing this he first denied a d insisted it must be a typo but my implant card and serial number proved he had implanted the wrong ones. He at first wanted me to pay to have this corrected. Moderate profile is more likely to migrate then high profile. Dr. Palin blamed his nurse but it was him who cut me open and stitched me up. He agreed to fix them no charge by using SergiMend since the first implant had migrated and cause the pocked to stretch. He said there was no need for a capsulorrhaphy. Immediately post op it was clear the left breast was lower then the right, I know have a left breast that's 4 centimeters lower then the right and both implants are bottomed out and at my six month checkup he agreed the mesh had failed I'm the left breast but it was apparent as soon as the bandages came off that it was too low. I know have horrible stretch marks, one breast with a purple scar a 3rd of the way up my breast. He told me to fix my breasts I will have to pay $2400 for just the left or $3800 for both.

OMG...Im so sorry this happened to you. I cant believe he put in the wrong implant and messed you up so badly. I hope things work out better for you. You shouldn't go back to him again though because obviously he doesn't know what he is doing. And possibly contact a lawyer!

Oh I am so sorry to hear of your disappointment. This must be extremely frustrating for you. Do you experience any physical discomfort on a daily basis? I really hope not. You were smart to look closer at your medical chart and at the implant serial numbers. Will you be getting a second opinion on the revision? Keep us posted!

I just had my breast revised for a third time Tuesday December 17th, 2013 by Dr. J. Dan Metcalf, wow what an amazing guy! He didn't charge me extra for all the correction work and included all the meds, 3 Balli Bra's, a sports bra for working out when I am healed, milk thistle to keep my implants soft and even treated me for thrush from the antibiotics and gave me those meds too. I am so thankful I went with him. I got 750 CC's mentor high profile silicone gel implants, over the muscle.

I'm so sorry to hear about your negative experience. It sounds like your new doctor is very involved with you and I hope that your revision turns out the way you always wanted!

Dr. Palin was ridiculous
Although his office manager Lee-Ann is amazing, I found Dr. Palin to be a flat out liar, he claimed to have warned me about the possibility of stretch marks which he had, I went from barely an a cup to having 600cc implants, I was not the surgeon he was! Further more he and I had agreed upon high profile as they are less likely to migrate, he accidentally implanted moderate profile and I was left with sever bottoming out. When confronted, he lied and said that the information on my implant card was incorrect, but when I reminded him I could call the implant manufacturer and verify he agreed, but still wanted me to pay to correct his issue. It should also be noted that a moderate profile implant has a larger circumference then a high profile because the high profile implants sticks out farther. He created pockets for what he thought was a high profile and the when he filled the implant with the saline, it was larger in diameter then the pocket he created, thus putting more force then necessary on the implant pocket and cause them the pocket to "blow out" please note the pictures I have attached are after my second surgery with him, where he claimed to have corrected the bottoming out

So terrible this doctor and what he did to you and then the lack of after-care! Are you still left with these results or have you seen another PS for revision?

I had breast augmentation revision over a month ago, I am so happy with my results. I saw Dr. J. Dan Metcalf. I will never forget what Dr. William Palin out me through and how he disfigured my breasts. I am so thankful I met a
Dr. Metcalf, he didn't even charge me for the corrective work.

Hi there, how is the recovery going - are you happy with your results? I note your original size was an A cup - how are you finding the 'over' placement?x

Hi there I'm in the exact same position as you were. My boobs have dropped heaps and look like yours. scars are Sooooo high. My surgeon is as disappointed as me and will fix mine for nothing. I was an a cup also and because I'm having them over the muscle this time I was wondering if I can get bigger because they are too small for my frame. I'd love to see your photos of your current implants if that's ok. Also how do they feel now not under your muscle?

Jeeeez,, you poor girlie... I'm 7 months post op now and I absolutely love my new boobs. An Italian surgeon did them here in London and everything was wonderful.. I hope you have a success for your 3rd op.. Good luck..
