WORTH IT
I’m a mother of three who has never been the same after my pregnancies and had muscle separation and slight umbilical hernia. Felt that my stomach looked saggy and aged me! Always had to dress around my protruding tummy even though I’m a slim build, hiding in baggy tops etc! Researching possible procedures for the last 5/6 years and finally doing it!

Day of surgery

Cleo.leo
I arrived at the BMI Priory hospital at 9am and settled in to my own room with its own ensuite toilet/ shower which was clean and nice. Hospital staff and nurses came in to check all was ok and that I had everything I needed. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Miss Kat came in and marked me up and was very reassuring and then it was a waiting game until I was called down to theatre. I was very excited and nervous and by the time I was called by a lovely nurse I became quite emotional and shaky. The anaesthetists were extremely kind and caring towards me as I lay down and they honestly could not have been sweeter to me. I knew I was being over dramatic as some tears rolled down my face but they made me feel so comforted and before I knew it I was asleep. I woke up in recovery feeling comfortable and sleepy and the rest of the day was a blur! Morphine is a hell of a drug! ????

11 days post op

Cleo.leo
It’s been a time of slow healing and recovery since my op 11 days ago and pain wise I feel it has been what I expected. I did a lot of research before having this op so I was fully aware of the recovery time and how much discomfort to expect. What I wasn’t anticipating was the high level of nausea I suffered within the first week! No one else had really experienced and documented it on this site before so I was worried that something might be wrong with me! However, after eventually throwing up on days 5 and 6 post op (which was extremely painful!) I felt so much better and have not felt sick ever since! I threw up weird brownish reddish bile which scared me at the time but after it was out I felt like a brand new person! So thank God I got that out of my system. Since then my recovery has been so much easier. I am still hunched over and finding it more uncomfortable in the evening time but I can function now and don’t feel like a poorly person anymore!
I had my dressings changed and was checked by my lovely surgeon on day 9 and I was amazed by the results. I don’t know how she has given me such a small, contoured waist already! I am so so happy and can’t wait to see my results after my swelling goes down and I can stand up straight and try on clothes! So excited.

Hey there, just found you!!! You look amazing! You are going to have a great result! Are you able to shower yet? I am allowed tomorrow but I can't remember whether the nurse said to remove the old dressings then shower completely dressing free or add the microspore tape first then shower. Can you remember what we should be doing? Xx

Thank you!! so do you! I’m not able to shower until Monday but when I do she said I could either take the dressings off before or during the shower, then after I’m completely dry I should put on the micropore tape. she said she doesn’t mind taking me through it in the phone either if I’m nervous! maybe give them a little call tomorrow for your peace of mind? xx
