6 weeks post op today

Things are a lot better in general for me recently... life is pretty much back to normal and energy levels are good (until evening when I feel I cannot go on anymore and climb into bed and don’t move!) Most of my scab in bb has come out and only a little bit of it is still in there. Main incision is still a bit lumpy and bumpy but I keep it covered with the micropore tape and I can tell it is improving and flattening out more and more.
Still swollen too but on the whole very pleased and happy!

5 weeks post op

So yesterday I was 5 weeks post op and I am doing ok. I’m still swollen and my right thigh gets shooting, stabbing pains randomly which catch me off guard! Sleeping is still very uncomfortable too but I do sleep through the night most nights which I’m grateful for!
My belly button is still scabbed inside I will add pics.
I still have puckering and creasing on my scar too, not much he really changed! I will update again when my scab finally falls out of bb.

4 weeks post op today

Today I am 4 weeks post op and things are going quite well. I feel more myself and have turned another corner as far as straightening out and pain management goes. Although I usually do feel tired, tight and swollen in the evenings. I haven’t taken paracetamol in about 4 or 5 days but will take it if I feel I need to.
I’ve started sleeping on my side a bit which is helping me sleep through the night but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to be doing that! It feels good though!
My belly button is still a black scab inside and I’m cleaning it gently with iodine every day as instructed by the nurse. The folds/ pleats and creases around my scar seem to be getting better as time goes on and I’m just trying to be patient and not look at everything too closely or critically. I know from other people’s blogs that things just keep improving as the weeks and months roll on!
I am trying to wear jeans and normal clothes as much as possible but find myself stripping off and getting back in my cosy clothes as soon a I can!
I feel well enough to drive now too so I will resume the school run next week and just make sure I am resting as much as possible in between school run duties and work!
All in all I am so grateful that recovery is moving along and that I am already 1 month post op now. Even with the swelling I feel smaller, tighter and more toned and I am excited for the swelling to go down even more in the next few weeks!

Overall rating

Miss Kat is a true perfectionist and professional. From the moment I first met her I could tell straight away that she was a master of her craft. I had 4 consultations with other surgeons (some of whom told me I wasn’t a good candidate before even hearing my concerns). Miss Kat’s professional and concise approach, her attentive listening and her thorough examination of me made me feel that I was actually being taken care of. She was keen to help/ advise and give me the most honest and realistic expectation I could hope for. I am so grateful and thankful for this fantastic surgeon. She has changed my life and body for the better!
