WORTH IT
This morning I had my surgery at 8:00 am. When I arrived I was taken back and had a pregnancy test to start. Then I wS taken to a pre surgery area where I changed into my gown and seated in a recliner with a warm blanket over me. My nurse started my IV and the doctor came back to talk to me, draw on my stomach and answer any questions. The staff made me feel very relaxed. Then the anesthesiologist came in to ask me questions before he escorted me to the surgical room. That was the last I remember untiL I woke up in the chair where I began. The nurse came back and helped me get dressed. It wasn't that bad but I couldn't stand up very well because I was shakey from the anesthesia.the nurse called my husband to come back and they both escorted me to our truck. I had to take baby steps and had some pain and pressure, but it wasn't bad.
I came home and got in bed and ate some soup and crackers. For the last few hours I have been dozing in and out. Not as bad As I thought.

I slept pretty well last night. I woke up a couple of times and tried to reposition myself but I was too sore.
I was able to get up and make coffee and walk around for a little while. I definitely need my hydrocodone to move around.
I saw Dr. Finically this afternoon and he said everything looks good. My stomach looks pretty flat to be swollen and I have some bruising on my sides where he did some liposuction. I will see him again next Week. I am so excited to see the results once the swelling and bruising subside.
Now I am searching the internet for information on scar therapy. I have purchased a gel zone pack and Skin Medica scar recovery gel. I am ready to begin this treatment in a week or so. Dr. Finically said we can talk more about that next week.

Go easy on yourself for the first 2 weeks. Â I found that the best scar therapy for me was both the Palmer's and Bio Oils. Â Massaging the incision 2 times a day really helps.

I am also a mother of three and I'm having a mini TT next month. I'm not having any muscle repair or lipo (I had lipo a year ago). Keep us updated on your recovery because I'm very curious what to expect.

Day 9- scar revealed!

Hi guys, The past week has not been bad. The first few days I had trouble positioning myself in bed, getting up and down, and standing upright. After that I only had minor discomfort and some burning along the incision. I can stand upright and do minor tasks and run errands. I do tire more easily than usual and I am swollen by late afternoon. Salty foods don't help!! The worse part is wearing this compression garment.
Today Dr. Finical took off my tape and I am quite impressed with his work so far. The incision is very clean and straight. I have to see him in 2 more weeks and he says I can take off the compression garment then. I am so excited to start scar therapy and get working out! I hate being limited!!

By the way, I took these photos at the end of the day and was much more swollen plus I ate 5 Guys to make myself feel better! Salt is not your friend!!

Did you have general anesthesia? I'm a little nervous because my ps is doing my surgery with a local. He told me he's giving me drugs to make me "appropriately snookered (sp)" but it still makes me scared.

Thanks so much and best of luck! I had a local as well. All I remember is waking up in recovery to go home. It is a little scary.

You look really, really good! I am 7 days past, and hoping my swelling goes down and I look close to what you look like. ;)

Thank you so much! It's nice to hear. I hope you are doing well. The first ten days were the worse for swelling, especially at the end of the day. I still have se swelling but I feel great and can't wait to lose this binder and workout!
