I had restalyne injected in my tear troughs 17 days ago. I went back to my provider after a week because I had lumps under each eye and I wasnt sure if it was product that needed massaging or adjusting, or swelling. He said that Hyaluronic acid attracts water, and it was most likely water retention that would go away. It is now another week and a half later and it hasnt changed. Is there a chance it will go away anytime soon? Is there any way to make it better?
I was born with tired looking eyes. I've gotten filler (tried Restylane, belotero) and it seems they worsen the appearance of my tired eyes because I retain water and am constantly puffy. So since hyaluronic acid dermal fillers cause a lot of water retention, Can using topical creams that have sodium hyaluronate also add to this problem? I'm letting my filler ride out (don't want Vitrase) but I'm wondering if I should stop my moisturizers that have sodium hyaluronate
The swelling has happened about once a month, which makes me think it does have something to do with the menstral cycle. I am retaining water in the tear troughs. Its always been after sleep. It lasts about 3 days. Its not an allergic reaction to my skin care products. Do you have any clearer answers to this problem?
I wanted to clarify my previous question about restalyne and allergies. I wasn't asking about allergy to the restalyne - I was wondering if side effects such as sinus congestion and puffy/irritated eyes (due to seasonal allergies) could potentially worsen the appearance of the bags because of the fillers hydrophilic nature. I have read a couple of different Doctor answers saying that you may not be a candidate if you have sinus issues, allergies, and occasional water retention.
Two years ago my plastic surgeon injected resta lyn and concealed malaria bags. He did exactly same a month ago but within a week they came back. Doc said I have a lot of water retention and I do wake up with shifting fluid in area? Do I have any other options? Diuretics improve it but not want to stay on them.
I have tried every type of HA filler even Voluma. It's 2 months post Restalyn injections in my cheeks and every morning my tear trough area is significantly swollen. It dissipates throughout the day but still remains puffy in areas that were not injected (close to my nose, lower part of my cheek and tear thoughs). Is this water retention? What can I do to minimize this? What fillers do not attract water? Post injections my cheeks looked great for the first week and then this started happening.
