I underwent laparoscopic appendectomy two weeks ago. I had my TT done 4 years ago and ever since then my stomach was flat as a board. The surgeon moved my belly button downward and reconstructed it. However immediately after surgery I felt a hard mass right above my belly button. It looks like a bulge or a bump but rock hard to the touch. The doctor who removed my appendix said he had to aggressively manipulate the area in order to get in. Could this ruin the TT? Would compression binders help?
Im in my mid 40s and I had a drainless tummy tuck with muscle repair 4 years ago. Between 6-8 months post op I developed 2 hernias. 1 umbilical and 1 ventral. Both were very small and were stitched by a general surgeon without mesh. Within 1 year the ventral hernia reoccurred and I had another hernia repair surgery this time with mesh. Fast forward another year and after a nasty cough around the holidays both the ventral and umbilical hernias opened back up and I have a new ventral hernia and inch above the previous. I am not overweight and I do not work out or put excessive strain on my stomach. My tummy tuck was 6 years after giving birth to my last child. What could be causing my reoccurring hernias and could it be caused by my tummy tuck? How can I stop reoccurrence from my existing hernias and stop the development of any new ones? I have spoken to my surgeon and shes been great but unsure about why this happening.
I had a full abdominoplasty 4years ago.I'm lean 106lbs, my plastic surgeon said it's harder to perform TTs on thinner patients because there's not as much to work with. My skin is still super lax & I have a bulge above my scar. What exactly is that..fat? Skin? I'm considering paying to have him revise to lower the scar but realistically my concern is the bump that can be seen through clothes (& defeats the purpose of a TT). Can this bump still exist even after a revision? What's going on here?
Botched TT in 2018. Another surgeon corrected things via LBL in 2019. Nerve damage kept worsening. No nuero has been able to pin point which nerve is damaged. (I was at Hopkins today and told there is nothing that can be done other then CBT and Cymbalta which may not help. I've been medically gaslighted through this. Should I try quaternary care?I'm physically uneven and have pain in my trochanter & piriformis. My scar sits right above it.It's where I have pain.Ideas?
I had a tummy tuck in the summer of 2019. At the time I was 5'10 and 220 pounds. I looked and felt great. However, exactly one year post-op, my back started hurting. The pain is in my left lower back somtimes hip area. It even shoots down my leg. My life has been ruined due to this pain. I have not been able to work out and can hardly walk. Is there any chance my tummy tuck caused this pain? If so, is there anything I can do to get relief? I have seen back doctors and PTs with no luck.
Hello. I am 23 years old and had a tummy tuck back in October 2019 due to childbirth. After my tummy tuck I weighed in at about 155 pounds and since then I have gained about 20 to 25 pounds. Im almost back to 160 pounds now and I feel like my skin is a little bit looser and Im worried that I might have to go in for a revision due to my skin laxity being little to none. Will exercise help me achieve my original tummy tuck results or will I need revision surgery? Thank you for all feedback.
Hi! Four years ago I got a mommy makeover. I had a tummy tuck Lipo and muscle repair as well as breast aug. I had several complications from the surgeries but the one I am most concerned about right now is that I cannot feel anything from my belly button to my pubic bone. I thought that over the years the nerves would regenerate but that did not happen. There are small areas where I can feel sensations like a pin prick. I also have deep phantom itching daily. Is this something that can be fixed?
I had a TT with muscle repair and now I need a hysterectomy and I chose the laparoscopic hysterectomy with Divinci Assist. My question is will the outcome of the Hys affect my TT results, will I need revision of any sort? What happens when she goes through the belly button that was reconstructed, will I develop belly fat? Would you recommend a different type procedure over the other one? I dont want to be vein and my health is important but I did pay 7k for the TT and I dont want it messed up,.
What does a tummy tuck undoing entail, and will it be as invasive as the actual tummy tuck? Can the sutures be taken out through your belly button, instead of having to be cut end to end? its been 4 years but I still feel short of breath & miserable in my own skin. I've been to a couple other surgeons (I don't want to see my original surgeon anymore because of the damage already done), and they tell me it's in my head. Anyone know a doctor who has done the tummy tuck undoing procedure?
