My left leg is still sensitive and swollen from medial thigh lift with lipo on both legs. The right side is doing well and doesn't bother me. Swelling is completely gone on that side and scar is healing, closing and flattening. However, when I stand up the left side (scar) is protruding. When lying down and massaging I can feel what feels like round knots under the scar and the left thigh is bigger than the right which is kind of sensitive to touch and when I lay on my left side(leg) it hurts. I had a thigh lift in Florida about 12 weeks ago. My right leg has a long, wide ugly scar. This suture line opened after the surgery. It makes me feel deformed. Is there anything that can be done. The scar is hot to the touch. I really need some help. I also have a huge protrusion at the end of my knee. Looks like my knee does a right turn. It was a seroma at one time. How long will the swelling last.
I'm about to undergo a thigh lift surgery in a month. I was considering lymphatic drainage to prepare body for surgery. Would that be risky in terms of developing DVT doing the lympatic drainage + the surgery afterwards? I have no history of blood clots, just a lot of swelling after my last lipo which gave me a scare.
I don't believe I worded my last question correctly. I did develop cellulitis and was put on stronger antibiotics two weeks ago which helped tremendously. Now, 3 weeks after surgery I still have a lot of tenderness on my inner thighs as well as a lot of tightness. Swelling has gone down, but not completely gone. Saw doctor, he said to try to walk as much as possible and then come back and see him in a month. All he can figure out at this point is perhaps slow recovery time. Thank you
Hi,I had a bilateral tigh lift on March 13. Abt 3 weeks ago I began to experience swelling in my right foot/ankle/calf. I have been fitted for compression tights and they have not worked. Legs are being elevated etc. We have ruled out clotting and vein damage. Is this normal? Should I expect this to go away? Dr seems to think this is lymphedema.
I had an extended medial thigh lift on March 20 (35 days ago) and of course I expected swelling but why is my left foot/ankle swelling at least 80% more than the right? I am spending at least ~15 hours a day with my legs elevated above my heart. A examination was made to see if it was a DVT, results came back negative. Doctor says my lympathic system is disturbed from the surgery, but he didn't offer any recovery suggestions. How long will this last and what can I do?
Ihad a medial thigh lift 15 days ago, and experienced extreme swelling of the labia, which my surgeon said would reduce to normal in a week or so. However, I'm still unable to walk, sit, or even stand for long because the swelling makes these activities very painful. I haven't read of anyone else complaining of this; is this usual? If so, how long is it likely to last? And most importantly - what can I do for some relief?
I'm almost 14 months post op from inner thigh lift surgery. Surgery went well & the surgeon did a great job. Swelling is still an issue. The swelling is from the tops of the ankles & down into the feet. It's decreased since surgery, but persistent. The worst part seems to be around my ankle bones & Achilles heel. By the end of the day when I press it leaves a mark. Pitting. Will this ever go away? I'm 55, exercise 5 times a week, at a good weight & my heart is in good condition.
I get up and walk many times bathroom, shower, walk from bed to sofa in room but scared to go downstairs. Because I went down once and came back up and my legs got so tight and swole. I thought they would pop open. It did go back down. However when ever I walk to much the top part of my thigh tenses up. Pictures are from today Jan 29th, 2017 6days post op does this look normal? Is the yellow tint to my incision normal? Is it normal to have this yellow oranges type drainage? No sign of infection.
Thigh lift 2wks ago. I hv open area on both thighs. The one on left thigh is pretty large and draining really bad. The back of my thighs are hard. I was instructed to wear my compression garment to control swelling but it's completely soiled within 2 to 3 hrs. Any suggestions? Draining beyond my control.
