I had a septoplasty with inferior turbinate submucous resection oo(oabout 50%) about 8 months ago. I also had a rhinoplasty. Since then the air I breathe in feels cold (it used to feel colder) and my nose gets very dry at night time. I have no problems breathing via my nose. Since the surgery the roof of my mouth feels dry and cold. My tongue is really dry. The surgery was a complex one as my turbinates were very enlarged. My doctor says its all healing well. When/will this stop?
I had closed septoplasty 8 months ago mainly because I had a slight deviation and I hated my nose from the side which had a big hump. It was clear I did not want to change from the front. I am really starting to think that I disfigured myself. I liked my face from the front and now I really hate it. I was very swollen and had big bruises after the surgery so I did react a lot to the procedure but the before and after seem way too far from each other now to get any better.
The picture on the left was taken 8 months after the revised septoplasty. My doctor claims the shape of my nose has not changed. The nose is in fact, shorter and with an unattractive dorsal hump The tip of my nose is still numb, and my lips seem to have changed shape too. Is this been seen by anyone before? What is the best approach for me to have this corrected? This is my 3rd procedure on my nose
Had septoplasmy and turbinate and polyp removal/ reduction, 8months ago. I've had 5sinus infections and constantly congested. Is there something wrong? Never got sinus infections like this before. Had the surgery bc of my deviated septum and I'm a singer. This is way worse then before. Also had my tonsils removed the same time and I've had strep since the surgery.
I had surgery approx. eight months ago and I have been experiencing debilitating pressure pains and burning sensations in my head ever since. I had an MRI of the brain done about 3 months ago which indicated migraine. These pains are chronic, daily, prevent me from sleeping, and wake me up out of my sleep. This is most definitely surgery related as I never had this before and didn't begin until after surgery. What exactly could cause this and how can it be fixed? My surgeon is not helping.
8 months ago I had a Septoplasty for deviated septum and nasal valve collapse. Dr placed grafts on both sides although only one was collapsed. Now I still have bulge on other side. Is it possible to remove, or replace with thinner graft at this time, or is this still normal swelling. Really don't like the result now! Thanks.
Hi I had a septoplasty/rhinoplasty about 8 months ago. I recently visited my doctor with concerns of not being able to breathe at night. He looked and said that my septum is a little deviated (it was worse before apparently) but that nobody's septum can be perfect. I asked him to do a retouch and go back in and check it to straighten it out but said I didn't need to...can he refuse this?
septorhinoplasty with spreader grafts, osteotomy, tip work 7.5 months ago. My skin is oily but not thick (I'm Northern European). Is considerable swelling in the middle third of my nose still expected? It's not awful, but my nose is larger than I would prefer and slightly uneven (doc said this is due to uneven work on one side during the procedure). Some docs said that the shape at 6 months is what you're generally stuck with- my doc said to wait a year- does he just want to delay bad news?
I had a septoplasty 8 months ago. Since the operation I have had a strange feeling or a slight pain on the palate behind the incisors on the incisive papila. My surgeon says everything is fine and the pain will go away eventually. Is this still likely after 8 months?
