i am about 10.5 months post-opbut tip is still swelling. In the am especially my tip is pretty stiff and softens through the day and by the end of it my nose looks normalish (but still a bit puffy). at 4-5 mon my tip was smaller and defined but i had 2 dents near the tip area.doc injected aqua mid into one side and kind of cut(?) through the other (am not sure what he did my eyes were closed and it was really painful like he was cutting/ injecting my nose multiple times).
I quit smoking 3 weeks before rhinoplasty (my surgeon recommended 2). However, I did take a couple drags off a cigarette 11 days before my surgery (my surgery is coming up) Is this something I should cancel my surgery for/cause a concern?
My nose looks awful when i dont smoke, there is groove on one side where the skin sinks in the open roof and i have an uneven and bifid tip since my rhinoplasty. But when I smoke or drink my nose looks a lot better because there is some swelling. Will this happen for all my life or will at some point my nose stop swelling when i smoke or drink? I dont want my skin to shrink wrap even more and like it so much better with swelling that covers all the imperfctions..
*I am 7 months post op* I waited about 2 weeks after my rhinoplasty to start smoking cigarettes. I had stopped smoking 2 weeks before my surgery as well. I had read many different time frames for smoking after a rhinoplasty procedure. I am naturally an over-worrier. My question is, is smoking after rhinoplasty related to the healing/ scarring, or could it have had any effect on the overall shape of my nose, IE the shape of the tip?
