Hello, I had a septorhinoplasty 8 months ago in my home-country. I corrected the septum, but since then I have had problems with mucus, difficulty breathing. CT Scan showed mild symptoms of sinusitis and no irregularities in nose structures or bones. I have been seen by 2 ENT-s in Toronto and no solution at all besides the saline & steroid spray. I am also having issues with ears now. What should be the diagnosis? Thanks.
I had a deformed nose after a car accident. Had a functional surgery and then a cosmetic surgery a year after. After the cosmetic surgery (3 years ago) I started experiencing mucus buildup and congestion in my left nostril. That side was particularly deformed and probably required more work. ENTs say they dont see a structural issue. I have to blow my nose 50 times a day. Rinsing with neti pot and flonase help to some extent.
Whenever I cry or Im sick my left nostril gets so blocked up with mucus, it doesnt flow like it used to before it just stays clogged and concentrated near my septum . Im confused on whether or not this is normal or is this due to swelling from internal nasal passages thats making it this way? Im 9 months post op and my left nostril is so so swollen it looks like how it does from 2 months post op at best.
I recieved a rhinoplasty years ago to correct a deviated septum and ever sinceevery time I blow my nose mucus comes out of my left eye. I asked the dr about this in a follow up appointment and he said it was normal. Wondering if its actually normal for this to be happening - or if its something to be concerned about.
Its been a year and 3 months since my rhinoplasty and my nose feels dry often . I have to constantly clean it with a q-tip to clean out the dried mucus. I feel like I have to blow my nose due to the feeling of my nose feeling blocked. During, cold weather it gets runny and when I cry my nose produces a lot of mucus making it hard to breathe. I feel like my nasal airways are blocked and feel relief once I use a q-tip to remove crusting in nose. Will this improve with time ?
I'm 6 weeks Post-op and I've been gently swabbing the inside of my nose with a cotton swab to remove mucus. It doesn't hurt at all but I'm wondering if doing this will affect my long term results, or even cause short term swelling. Thanks!
I am 13 months post rhinoplasty that involved straightening my septum and reducing the size of my nose. I never had any sinus or other nasal issues pre surgery. Since the rhinoplasty I have had a near constant runny nose with discharge that has some blood mixed in. I also have clumps of mucus break free from deep in my nasal area. My surgeon was an ent/facial plastics. I saw another medical ent who thinks I have sinusitis and gave me some sprays that didn't help. Could the surgery have caused this issue?
Its been 9 months since my rhinoplasty and I still find it hard to breathe at times. My breathing was perfectly fine before rhinoplasty. But now Every morning I wake up with clear mucus Its harder to breathe mainly when Im laying down.
Hi, I had a rhino/septo about 6 weeks ago and I have bad scabbing and mucus in my throat. And my breathing is very congested at times I can only breathe out of one nostril, then sometimes it changes to the other. Ive tried saline spray, Vaseline, ointment, and a humidifier. But scabs keep coming back even after Ive cleaned it. Is there anything else I can do. I just want to be able to breathe better.
I woke up this morning with a dry and congested feeling in my nose, I figured I'd gently try to remove the mucus when it is hard as I use certain products my doctor recommended to keep it moist inside my nose and it is impossible to get rid of them using irrigation; they just won't come out that way. I got out a few pieces without any pain or discomfort along with some hair. I do have dissolvable stitches from what doctor told me and I don't think I got anything out that looked like one.
