Can blocked mucus drainage be due to swelling of internal passages? 9 months post op

Question

Whenever I cry or I’m sick my left nostril gets so blocked up with mucus, it doesnt flow like it used to before it just stays clogged and concentrated near my septum . I’m confused on whether or not this is normal or is this due to swelling from internal nasal passages that’s making it this way? Im 9 months post op and my left nostril is so so swollen it looks like how it does from 2 months post op at best.

When somebody cries or if they are sick, their turbinates get enlarged and that can cause congestion. Topical steroid and topical antihistamine nasal sprays are over the counter and may be helpful for your condition. Additionally, you should visit your surgeon for an examination. While it is possible that swelling after a procedure could be related to the procedure itself, it could also be attributed to other factors such as allergies or incomplete correction of nasal alignment. It is advisable to discuss these possibilities with your doctor for a comprehensive evaluation. I am sorry about your experience

The first thing I would check is to see if your turbinates are enlarged. This is the most likely cause and can be improved with steroid injections. The other option is surgical reduction of the  turbinates.
