Is it possible to have permanent mucus buildup and nose congestion after septorhinoplasty?

Hello, I had a septorhinoplasty 8 months ago in my home-country. I corrected the septum, but since then I have had problems with mucus, difficulty breathing. CT Scan showed mild symptoms of sinusitis and no irregularities in nose structures or bones. I have been seen by 2 ENT-s in Toronto and no solution at all besides the saline & steroid spray. I am also having issues with ears now. What should be the diagnosis? Thanks.

You may have enlarged nasal turbinates causing the symptoms you describe. There are ways of reducing the turbinates both surgically and non surgically.  That’s the most likely cause

The internal nasal valves comprise  the nasal septum, the turbinates, and the upper lateral cartilages. External nasal valves are largely formed by the lower lateral tip cartilage. Obstruction after septorhinoplasty surgery can be caused by narrowing of either the internal or external nasal valves, and this is a relatively straightforward examination. If it is not feasible for you to visit your rhinoplasty surgeon who is out of the country, please consider meeting with several reputable local rhinoplasty specialists so you can get a diagnosis and see how best to move forward.
