Hello, I had a rhinoplasty surgery 6 months ago. A hematoma formed in my nose and it was emptied in the first week. In the following weeks, I had nasal abscess and nosebleed. There was a risk of adhesions, so a tampon was inserted again. After the tampon, my face was very swollen and it turned out to be a severe infection. With antibiotics and needles We treated the infection and it went away. Currently I have a small hole in my septum. Is there any chance that the needle will reduce the swelling
I had the following surgeries together to restore my breathing, deviated septum, and reduce a hump after having suffered injuries to my nose years prior: septorhinopasty, nasal valve repair, turbinate reduction. The surgery took 7.5 hours and there were mentions of a fracture at the L-strut and a keystone disruption at the time of surgery. I'm not sure what this means. The complications that I have/had following surgery include hematoma, synechia L+, narrowed airways, deviated septum.
I am 5m post primary rhinoplasty. Breathing through one nostril is 50% obstructed. Directly after surgery there was a small lump, which probably was a small hematoma which wasn't drained. Now there is a stiff bulge right below the place where you can see the scar, parallel to lateral crus. The wall is sagging because of it. My surgeon prescribed 3 rounds of steroid injections to deal with edema and fibrosis. Can it be that UCL strut could ve been placed unilaterally and caused the bulging?
It's been been 10 days since I had my rhinoplasty and both sides wall of my septum are very swollen. It does not hurt. However, I can barely breath out but I can absolutely not breath in. Is this normal? Is this a case of septum hematoma?
I had open rhinoplasty 6 months ago whereby my own spare cartilage from my nose was used along with fascia from my scalp. Part of the graft on the tip became infected & eventually had to be removed 3 weeks ago. I did suffer a Haematoma. I now have persistent redness on the tip of my nose which isn't showing any sign of improving which is worrying me. I only had a very tiny area of redness around the infected graft prior. Can anyone explain what's going on and how to treat this? Thank you
I fell onto my face, and had severe bleeding from the R side of my nose for about 5'. It swelled but there was not much bruising. I had a large hematoma under my top lip. The urgent care doc said that my septum was a bit off to the R. It's been 2 weeks and my nose is still acutely painful, especially if I put my finger inside the R side of the nose and press inward, even a tiny bit. Is it possible for the cartilage to be broken even if the bones aren't?
Having recently been assaulted, shortly after it happened i noticed a slight change in the shape of my nose, so after examining it myself I noticed a red bump had formed inside my left nostril. Originally I thought that my septum was deviated so I decided to get it looked at by a specialist. However, the specialist examined the exterior and interior of my nose and said that it was just swelling of the septum that would heal naturally within a month. I'm now extremely worried, please help
I have an orbital fracture and nasal fracture. My face was swollen. The swelling has gone down but I developed a hematoma in my face. Under the eye next to my nose. It is about one inch or inch and a half. I am concerned that it will not go away and cause some asymmetry in my face. That area feels numb but not as numb as at the beginning. It also feels heavy and bothers me when I smile. The color of bruising is practically gone but I can feel the lump which has a hard and rubbery feeling. What can i do to speed up the healing process ? Is it recommended to get it drained?
Hi, I have just had rhinoplasty done 2 days ago with cartilage from both my ears. One of the ear has 2 deep cuts. They will not stop bleeding, blood looks thin. Other ear has developed a hematoma in the concha. (Purplish, very tender, swollen and skin is thin) My plastic surgeon has merely assure me to take antibiotics and wait till both ears get better. They are not bandaged except for in the back where the cuts are made. Ears hurt more then nose. Please advice.
