Open Rhinoplasty Tip Redness - 6 months post-op. (photo)

Question

I had open rhinoplasty 6 months ago whereby my own spare cartilage from my nose was used along with fascia from my scalp. Part of the graft on the tip became infected & eventually had to be removed 3 weeks ago. I did suffer a Haematoma. I now have persistent redness on the tip of my nose which isn't showing any sign of improving which is worrying me. I only had a very tiny area of redness around the infected graft prior. Can anyone explain what's going on and how to treat this? Thank you

I'm not exactly sure what was done regarding your rhinoplasty, as normally cartilage/fascial grafts are used on the bridge of the nose.  An infection can often change the color and texture of skin for prolonged periods of time.  It will likely take a year or longer to subside; if it does not, then a laser may be used to reduce the vascularity or pigment as necessary.
