I had open rhinoplasty in February 2024 (8 months ago) and would appreciate your advice on the outcome. While my breathing has improved, I am not satisfied with the aesthetics, especially the frontal view. The tip still looks too large, more than before surgery ( I have thick skin). My surgeon mentioned supratip fibrosis but feels his work is excellent and last time proposed a filler on the bridge to make it more even. I think the nose would look bigger. Shoulf i consider revision? Thank you
Pain, alterings that looks as obvious lowness, used sunglasses for sometime between month 5/6, after edema was gone you can see it more clearly, it looks like fibrosis or something like that! Doctor said you dont have to be worried it is a small part and nothing happens from it, but I feel pain and irritation when i touch that part, even the skin in that part stays wrinkled! massaged it sometimes but doctor said i dont suggest it, it neither does alterings it neither helps! Did it one year ago
I underwent a primary rhinoplasty 1.5yrs ago and the edema on the upper and lower cartilages and tip, are still very noticeable. The alar have no definition. Since I have no cooperation from the surgeon that performed the rhino, Im researching on my own and I wonder if steroid injections would improve the outcome!? Also, noticed Aerolase that state it helps with postrhinoplasty fibrotic syndrome. Appreciate any advice!
Hi, I have thin skin & before I had rhinoplasty, the doctors that I considered mentioned fibrosis was nearly impossible in my skin type. However about 2-3 weeks after the procedure, my nose appeared somewhat deformed. My doctor said it was fibrosis and began injecting steroids, I'm only writing to get 2nd opinion. I trust my surgeon but he's out of state. Are steroid injections enough, are there other ways to deal with fibrosis on thin skin? Thanks
I know that every rhinoplasty causes internal scarring and fibrosis to some degree normaly it does not affect the shape of the nose. But in some patients it is so pronounced that it changes the whole nose shape negatively (For example: bumps, droppy nose, bigger looking nose..) often times revision is recommended in these cases but how can it be guaranteed that it will not happen again?
I am 5m post primary rhinoplasty. Breathing through one nostril is 50% obstructed. Directly after surgery there was a small lump, which probably was a small hematoma which wasn't drained. Now there is a stiff bulge right below the place where you can see the scar, parallel to lateral crus. The wall is sagging because of it. My surgeon prescribed 3 rounds of steroid injections to deal with edema and fibrosis. Can it be that UCL strut could ve been placed unilaterally and caused the bulging?
It seems its getting worse, although Ive had kenalog injections. Im just wondering for how long can I still develop fibrosis and if I risk having even more if I stop taping or massaging my nose. Its been all this time and its awful I still have to sleep with taping or Ill have a bigger nose the next day, and it feels its getting harder to get it back to normal with massaging.
So I just had a Rhinoplasty about 4 months ago, I had it done on June 13, and I realized that a small bump started growing on one side of my nose and the doctor mentioned it was fibrosis? Or something like that and it has grown more over the past months and she said to massage it but that didnt work. I need to know how can this be fixed ? Will I need another surgery?
My dorsal hump was taken down and my tip Had small amount of work done. My turbinates were also worked on. I like my side profile view but from the front I dont like my nose so far and I am at the 4 month mark. notice that on the sides of the bridge of my nose theres hump like swellin making my nose look crooked and asymmetrical. Will this all sudside with time? My surgeon has had me taping bcuz I had supra tip fibrosis. Is there still hope that my nose will look less bulbous with time?
