Is it possible that after 1 and 1/2 year’s since my rhinoplasty I’m still developing fibrosis?

Thank you for your question.  Unfortunately, fibrosis or internal scarring happens to certain degree in all patients undergoing rhinoplasty.  Just like a scar on your skin, after surgery, all patients will have “scar” internally as well.  In some patients, this process is clinically insignificant and does not distort the shape and outcome of the surgery, but in others, this process is significant.  Depending on exactly how your surgery was done, sometimes the active fibrosis may be clinically significant even after a year.  Steroid injections helps but must be used with caution since they themselves are not without risks such as thinning of skin.  The use of tape and its effect on your tip is puzzling however.  Tape usually does not help with fibrosis.  It does help with swelling.  Usually after a year, the swelling component should be minimal.  I would recommend you seek out a board certified plastic surgeon preferably the surgeon who have performed your surgery to discuss in depth.
