Im 2 weeks post op a closed rhino/septoplasty. I know its VERY early to make any any assumptions, however the tip is a little over rotated when looking straight on. My nostrils never showed before the procedure, and I have a long face as Im 59. How many mms should I expect it to drop?
I hate how my nose drops when I smile and am wondering if there are other ways besides a rhinoplasty to fix this? Possibly something that is not so invasive. Im not sure if I have thick skin as well and if a rhinoplasty would be worth it. I just want my nose but better.
Hi there, I told my surgeon I wanted to preserve a bit of my columella and he graciously did as I asked. Now looking back I wish I emphasized how I wanted it to still hang, not just be visible. I love my nose but Im feeling a loss of identity/ heritage without my columella hanging from the front. My surgeon seems to use strong grafts. Could it ever look like the columella's i've attached above. And would taping it differently allow the columella to drop more from the front?
I am a 37 y/o women who had a rhinoplasty in July of 2023. In the beginning, about a month after I had an infection and was treated with antibiotics. After everything was good and I was in love with the shape of my new nose. However, within last few months I realized that the tip dropped and it changed its shape. Plus, it has been two days I feel pulsing near the sides of my nose. You can actually see how the muscles contracts. Do I have chances that the will still change. Ils there swelling?
After Nasal Valve Repair surgery November 6th, my nose is so much better, my nose isn't collapsed now. But my nostrils aren't level and are exposed. I know there may be some swelling (I has sinus FESS surgery at the same time) but I didn't have exposed nostrils that are raised up before the surgery.
I had rhinoplasty in Turkey on July 11th - iI asked my surgeon to raise Philtrum, refine tip, narrow nostrils and de-project. All of which he said was possible. I did NOT want him to up-turn the tip. I know its normally done and will drop after healing but 6/7 months on, it still looks upturned and projected, just with a much lower bridge. I look wider and less defined from the front now than it did before. Photos attached before/ expectations / after for reference
Hello! Its been one year since I had my rhinoplasty. I wanted barbie nose, but now I think that the angle of my nose is too high and from the front my nostrils are almost fully shown. My doctor said that it will drop, but I wanted second professional opinion.
Just to get a general idea on the procedure, will the Dr need to take into consideration the dropping of the nose tip and columella when performing rhinoplasty? For example, we know the nose tip tends to drop due to gravity during healing stages, does the columella also tend to drop? Or, let's say it appears retracted fresh out of cast removal, is this placement of the columella often seen as the final result? Will it worsen as the nose tip drops, or drop along with, looking less retracted ?
My nose tip has been dropping more arnd more for months. Three doctors have said it looks fine, but I'm in constant agony. My nose is pulled so tight around my eyes I can't see. can't afford rhinoplasty without insurance paying. I am unable to function.
