Dear Doctors, I have desired to get a rhinoplasty for years because of how large my nose looks from the front, and especially from 3/4 view. However, I notice most doctors will focus on changing the side profile drastically, which I really happen to like in my nose. I do not like slopey turkish-style noses, or extremely thin and straight noses either. I like lines, bumps and natural shapes. I have considered african-american specialists for this reason -- is that a good idea?
So, im basically 6 months post op now and im worried about my swelling on the tip. I dont know if its swelling or if its generally crooked now? It looked dead straight coming out of the cast however I have had a few minor bumps to the nose. Ive always noticed a difference in my rhinoplasty that my right profile always looked different from my left since day one of surgery. However ive never had any previous asymmetry, I know things cant be perfect but help!
A round circular bump has been growing on either side of my nose bridge and it doesn't look natural at all. The bump on my right side feels quite sharp but is soft and can be pushed in. The bump on my left side is somewhat the same but does not feel sharp. My nose has also been extremely stuffy and blocked for the past year or so and i cant seem to breathe out of one nostril. (This happens to change from my left nostril to right)
Hi,I don't know where to start, but I'm so conscious about my nose, I won't look in a mirror, have photos taken, loved the rules of wearing face masks, because I was hidden. I'm 51,female,4ft 11,weigh 7.7stone, I know the end of my nose has got bigger, it's got a deep groove, going across, about 1-2cm above the tip of my nose, then the groove in the middle goes right underneath. It feels like a ball of fat, I can't feel any bone. I've had 2 comments in 3 days
Its been 8 months since my rhinoplasty and I can notice 2 bumps in half profile. Upper one is hard and bony, so I dont expect it to go away, whereas lower one is neither too hard, nor too soft. It becomes more apparent at the end of the day when the swelling goes down. My surgeon told me to wait a little longer, but I am still worried.
I am five weeks post open rhinoplasty. I had a tension nose with a pronounced hump and droopy tip. Everything has gone very well, and I was extremely pleased upon removal of the cast, splints, etc... At that time, my hump was gone, the front and sides of my nose were very smooth, and my tip no longer drooped. However, over the last couple of weeks I have developed bumps on both sides of my nose - on the right side just next to my eye, and on the left side a little lower than my eye. The bump on the left is fairly significant and hard. It makes my nose look crooked - similar to Owen Wilson's nose. I realize that it can take up to a year to achieve final results. My surgeon has been great, but his response to my bumps is 'we will just wait and see'. However, I need to know if this is common and how likely these bumps are to go away. People are even starting to comment that my nose looks crooked. Please share your experiences with me, so that I have some idea of what I am dealing with. Is this likely part of the healing process, or should I be concerned?Thank you,Nancy
I had primary rhinoplasty about 7 months ago. Already at the one-month mark, I noticed irregularities on the bridge and flagged it to my surgeon. He said it would smooth out, but it hasn't, so last week I got steroid injections, however ever since then the bumps are looking worse and much more prominent than a week ago. I'm very concerned and not sure what's going on. Could it be scar tissue, a callus. Will rasping solve this?
Hello. I had a rhinoplasty end of october 2023. Ive noticed two halfish pea sized bumps on the bridge. One at the highest part of the bridge and one about mid bridge. My procedure was hump removal, tip reconstruction, side narrowing and a deviated septum fix. The bumps are semi centred but more to where the deviated part was. Will these bumps be swelling? Or is it my bone healing in a way that makes it look like i have a hump again?
Hi , I have very bad uneveneee almost 3 years after rhinoplasty. One side looks perfect. The other side looks terrible , especially when seen in certain lights. I did have very thick skin my doctor said. Is there a chance that this is swelling? Or is this how it will remain? Y Ive also hittin a red Extremley hard bump on the uneven side, and the entire tip is still fully hard. Please help.
I had my rhinoplasty 2 years ago to correct a dorsal hump. Around 6 months ago I've noticed a bump on the bridge of my nose that wasn't there for the first year + following my surgery. I have recently lost about 20 pounds but other than that there have been no other health changes. Do I have to go through another rhinoplasty to have this fixed? And if so, will the bump keep returning? The surgeon that performed the surgery has retired.
