I have a straight nose w a slight septal deviation(not sure if having a small nose makes a difference). My turbinates are normal, sinuses healthy, blood vessels are tense due to nonallergic rhinitis(no real structural changes though during flare-ups), the main problem is my airflow feels mediocre(I rely on Breathe Right strips). The right nostril seems to normally suck in a tad too much as well (would straightening the septum fix that)? Ive never had work done on my nose and am very scared.
I'm having a revision rhinoplasty soon, this time it's going to be a closed surgery through the nostril. He is going to shave away a lump on the bone and remove a little bit of cartilage. I'm worried about becoming blind. How can you tell where blood vessels/arteries are during a closed surgery? And also, how to know how much you can shave off the bone? I'm also afraid to get a hole through the nasal bone if he shaves to much? A different surgeon told me that can happen.
My nose is very dry. And i can't sense air sometimes. it's cold.. and messing with my throat. None of this was brought up to me. My surgeon said no nerve branches or blood vessels were cut but my other ENT said once your tissue is cut they are gone. If that were the cause no one would get their noses done though. I have heard that nerves and blood vessels do grow back & regenerate. it's been almost a year though. ;/
I have an overrotated tip that makes my nose appear short. Im considering whether fillers to raise the bridge / change the shape of the tip or a surgical nose job would be lower risk.
I got drunk and I am ashamed to say I did 2 tiny bumps of cocaine. I am one month away from rhinoplasty. I do not do drugs regularly whatsoever. The amount was very small. I know that cocaine has an effect on blood vessels/nose in general Given that I do not regularly use drugs, that the amount was small, and that I have a month before surgery, will I be okay?
My tip is very cold all the time (many months post rhinoplasty/shawing off hump and bone that I did not want but plastic surgeon did illegaly.) When is the circulation coming back? Winter is coming and I fear the worst that my nose tip will die, I'm enthusiastic outdoor person even when it is as low as -4 F
I had closed septoplasty/rhinoplasty five weeks ago due to deviated septum. Before surgery I had almost curling of the tip of my nose to one side. One side had indentation; other side had a bump. Now with swelling gone, it is becoming to look like before. My surgeon said this is soft tissue memory and i should massage pushing towards one side.1-Is this common? 2-Can massage help or what can? 4-There are blood vessels appearing around the septum and I feel tingling sometimes. Is this expected?
