Does my nose bone need to be broken for straightening the nose, as my right nostril is 80% blocked. Do I need a septoplasty or a regular rhinoplasty? I am reluctant to having a procedure under general anesthesia, could I have it done under local? What exact procedure would I need, considering my nose looks different from each angle.
Its been a year and 3 months since my rhinoplasty and my nose feels dry often . I have to constantly clean it with a q-tip to clean out the dried mucus. I feel like I have to blow my nose due to the feeling of my nose feeling blocked. During, cold weather it gets runny and when I cry my nose produces a lot of mucus making it hard to breathe. I feel like my nasal airways are blocked and feel relief once I use a q-tip to remove crusting in nose. Will this improve with time ?
40 yo male, septo-rhinoplasty 2 years ago with turbinoplasty on left and turbinectomy on right of inferior turbinates. Primary issue has been right nostril with congestion and blockage day/night. During the day, somewhat better, use saline rinses/nasal dilator. Night time, nothing helps, right nostril is completely blocked 4 hours into sleep significantly affecting quality of sleep. Could above scenerio be a combo issue with turbinate and inner nasal valve? What would the remedy entail?
Hello, Im almost 6 months post-open rhino and theres still one nostril thats almost constantly blocked. It has opened sometimes (not as strongly as the other) but really rarely and only for like 5 minutes and then it gets blocked. Breathing through the other nostril is fine though. Looking at it from the inside, I can still see the septum a bit protruding (although a bit less than before). I still sleep with my mouth open at night. Is it possible that it is still swollen?
Im a year and a half post op, and my nose is still swollen/swells particularly in the morning. I was told because I have thin skin it would be 6 months to heal (I understand it can take up to 2 years ) but I thought by now it would stop swelling so much. If I compare pictures from now to the first few months, the swelling is the same. I also still feel like my nose is blocked sometimes. Ive messaged my surgeon and the response was just maybe thats just your skin and body structure.
I've been waking up with a blocked nose for the past 10 days or so, I don't think it's a cold, but regardless I'm concerned because I'm having a rhinoplasty done in 2 weeks. If I still have a blocked nose when surgery comes, will they still do the operation? Thanks
I am 11 months postop from my septorhinoplasty and am having consistent issues with my left turbinate. I have little to no airflow throughout the day that gets worse at night. It is also causing my left ear to feel blocked and have pain. I have tried steroids, they have not worked. What are my options?
I had a septorhinoplasty and a turbinate reduction done 8 months ago and I am not happy with the results. My nose doesnt seem to have changed much and I still feel like there is a blockage in my left nostril. I thought the bridge of my nose would be narrower and more defined.
I had my rhinoplasty overseas back in August 2019, I'm a mouth breather and I had my deviated septum fixed but I feel like my nostrils are constantly lightly blocked. I have to blow out to unblock but even when I try blowing out each nostril, it still feels hard to blow through. There's no smooth airflow going through. And when I try just breathing through my nostrils my lungs feel heavy and it feels very uncomfortable. What would be the solution for this?
