I have been taping my nose myself after my revision rhinoplasty and it is just over a month and my nose looks huge, and bumpy and the tip looks awful. I have been looking at pictures of my nose from the end of October and it looked amazing then but now it seems to have changed I hate how it looks. Did I ruin my nose job by taping and removing the tape incorrectly?
I am currently 10 months post-rhinoplasty, and I have quite thick skin. In the first few months, the side of my nose shifted to the left, and I believe the tip also deviated in that direction. During a follow-up appointment, the pictures taken showed that the nose tip looked crooked. Since then, I have been taping it to the right. I will attach some pictures for reference. What could be causing this issue, and how can it be fixed? Do my nose and its appearance look any better in the most recent?
My revision septorhinplasty is 7 months ago. Reason was again deviated septum and supratip fullness (soft tissue). Unfortunately the relevant supratip region is again slightly konvex (swollen). To manage swelling and try to prevent manifesting scar tissue, I try to tape the nose as much as possible. Does the slight tape-pressure on the nose bridge harm the septum, causing another deviation?
I've had 3 surgeries. I hade a bump and it was also S shaped. First time after I got swelling on the sides of the tip and the doctor did a revision. Then the tip dropped instead. He did a revision. This time, (4 years ago), I've had a pollybeak and also bump on each side of the tip. If I tape it it goes down a bit. The doctor doesn't want to do steroid injections and I don't want to have another surgery. Why is this happening and what are my options?
I had rhinoplasty at 18. I developed scar tissue just above the tip, so I had a revision at 21. Following the revision, the swelling was taking forever to subside, so I began taping from left to right just above my tip b/c I was scared of forming scar tissue again. There is less cartilage on the left side, & more on the right, & I am concerned I caused this from taping w/o consulting my surgeon. My tip also dropped. I am 31 now and get fillers, but did I worsen my result w/the tape?
I have had 4 rhinoplastys. I understand that there is an expected longer healing time. However I still have loose skin on my nose. My nose is squidgy and you can move the skin. When I pull the excess skin, from front view you can see a difference in the width. It is wide from front view from the extra skin. Would a skin tightening treatment help, such as radiofrequency? It also still swells up, especially after sleeping. I have found that taping it at night helps with this.Thank you
I had a revision rhinoplasty 10 months ago. My nose is still quiet large and undefined. When I go back for my follow up visit my dr can not definitively tell me if the largeness across the bridge and tip is scar tissue or swelling. I have received 2 shots over the past 10 months but my dr will not give me another for fear of complications. When I tape my nose looks lovely. Within 10 mins its undefined again. As the day progresses it never goes back to the smallness right after taping. Why?
I had a primary rhino on Dec 11 (nose fractured), and revisions on Mar 26 (rasping, cartilage removal of some cartilage, sutured tip to lift). I am happy with these revisions, and especially love my raised tip. I no longer have any pain, and would like to hit the gym, but I don't want to mess up my nose! Honestly, my tip is what I am most worried about, as I believe it has dropped a bit recently. Will doing elliptical exercises ruin my tip? Should I do something to support it while I exercise?
I am at 2,5 months post op. Columella strut graft was placed to fix hanging columella but it is a bit low and can be pushed up (Maybe suture broke?). I read that columella is easier to fix and alar retraction needs alar graft but I don't want to go for another extensive surgery. When i tape my nose from bottom it doesn't solve my problem completely but i have an improved apperance. Is it a bad idea to ask my surgeon to raise columella graft and forget alar retraction? Other suggestions?
I had a revision rhinoplasty done 6 months ago. When I first got my cast off I LOVED it. My nose started to swell so my doctor told me to tape for a month straight, but I still tape my nose every night. My nose looks amazing when I take my tape off in the morning, but swells as the day goes on. My nose has now formed some weird irregularities. Not sure if its swelling. If I don't tape it & sleep it's too swollen in the morning. My dad says it is bcuz I am taping and ruining my nose. Can that be?
