I am an African- American patient on retin-a treatment. I am using 0.05% and it has been 2 weeks since I have started and I am now experiencing darkening of the skin coming in patches along my forehead. Is there anything I can do to exfoliate and fade these marks as they are very visual.
I have been using tretinoin 0.05% for 8 wks starting slow building to everyday use now. Still getting some whiteheads on forehead but my rest of the face is clear now. I want to continue tretinoin but have noticed that my face has got dull/dark than my body atleast by two shades. I have been using a chemical sunscreen with SPF30 everyday and usually stay indoors. I have no clue why my face is getting darker. Can I use glycolicacid+ acid cream or vitaminC in the morning to help evenout tone?
I have so much dead skin build up and tretinoin has given me a deep mask like layer of dead skin that is ready to be ripped but still not exfoliating itself..maybe its taking time (dead skin is shining when i stretch my face) Can the tretinoin dryness cause wrinkles? Can it make skin rough permanently. How to rip that mask of dead skin it has covered my whole face.
I've been using retin A for a year and am currently using the .1% strength. For my birthday I got an exfoliating brush which I used twice a day for 2-3 weeks, and I probably shouldn't have done that because now my skin seems overexfoliated (redness, bigger pores etc.) I haven't used the brush for a month or so but my skin still looks a little rough. I'm currently using the retin A every night, should I scale it back to once every other night until my skin is back to where it was?
It always seems to dry out like a face mask and then peel off but ive been told thats actually my skin peeling off as well. should i wash it or exfoliate after get rid of the tightness or anything? and what about a face mask like bentonite clay?
I am currently on my third week on Retin-A micro gel and my skin is having a flake fest. I am constantly peeling layers of dry skin off my face. I've always heard that exfoliating at least one or two times a week is a quintessential part of one's skincare regimen, however I am not sure how to properly do so. When I try and exfoliate using a washcloth my skin gets very irritated (no matter how gentle I am) and I feel like I am triggering more breakouts.
