Should I wash my face after using Retin-A?

Question

It always seems to dry out like a face mask and then peel off but ive been told that’s actually my skin peeling off as well. should i wash it or exfoliate after get rid of the tightness or anything? and what about a face mask like bentonite clay?

Hi! Retin-A is best applied to a fresh clean face at night before bedtime.  If you are experiencing flaking, you can apply a plain moisturizer on top of it.  When you wash your face in the morning you may incorporate a gentle exfoliating scrub or cream into your regimen to assist in dead skin removal. 
Masks should be ok, but if you are new to retina-a or the mask, you may want to try it on a small patch of your face to make sure you don't experience excessive irritation from it.
