I am a 52 years old female recently experiencing increased hair breakage at the sides and front the scalp (3 cm from the skin). My hair was always fine in diameter and limp.I am using ammonia free hair colour and I have only roots done.My diet is balanced, I leave a healthy life style ,I am taking Omeprazole and I did have general anaesthesia x2 in the last 2 years( plastic surgery).I have visited specialist hair clinic and vitamin supplements and a course of PPP treatment was recommended for my problem.
I'm a woman, 45, with biopsy-proven AGA. 16 months ago, I quit minoxidil after 2 weeks bc of side effects but shed heavily for 5+ months. On my doctor's advice I just quit spironolactone after 3 weeks (25 mg dose) bc of extreme itching on scalp and body & it made my seb derm flare. I'm shedding 200-300 hairs/day since stopping (I shed extra from day 2 of spiro). Given my history of instant heavy shedding, would PRP help stem my current shed? Are there certain PRP protocols more likely to help?
I am a 50 yo woman with thin, shoulder length hair and have significant hair loss (female pattern). I have decided to get PRP and am pairing it with Fotona Laser Hair Growth treatment, combined with at home Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and Hair Science Topical Formulas for hair loss, 82S Shampoo. I do not want to use minoxidil etc. Q: Would getting my hair cut short improve the results? I am willing to buzz it all off if it would help the laser treatments and 82S penetrate my scalp better
I am a 45 year old female. I wish to have PRP for hair loss. I am heterogeneous for Factor V Leiden. I have never had a blood clot and am only aware that I have Factor V Leiden because of genetic testing. I don't require blood thinners. I have seen conflicting advice. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.
I'm interested in PRP for hair loss. (52yo, female.) A friend mentioned that her dr said that PRP is unsuitable for people with autoimmune issues because (a) an autoimmune issue means that your body produces antibodies to your own cells, and (b) PRP injections contains a high concentration of those antibodies. But my understanding is that PRP is often used for autoimmune-related issues -- e.g., alopecia areata, and also for joints damaged by rheumatoid arthritis, etc. Is her doctor correct?
There're different opinions regarding this.I read that some Doctors recommend one procedure in only 3 weeks others one PRP every 30 days, every 45 days and even longer. I'm 49 old woman in perimenopausic period on vitamins for more than 4 months and finasteride 2 mg for 50 days. I had my first PRP a month ago. I shed less hair than before but I can see my scalp more . May be it did not pass enough time to see good results. So, what d be the best frequency for PRP in the scalp in your opinion? Thanks
I am 54 years old. After menopause, my thick textured hair became thin and flat. I tired Rogaine because the directions said it could possibly restore previous texture. I stopped Rogaine due to blood pressure dropping when I used. I have taken Visical without benefit.
Hi I keep reading about PRO for hair restoration and now im reading about ACEL what is the diffrence between the two treatments and does anyone on the site do them in Los Angeles. I live I Calabasas and have not found anyone who performs either. Please help. Im 48 and this year for some reason my hair is disappearing I eat well, exercise and take vitamins. Is there a doctor in Los Angeles that can help?
I have been religiously using Rogaine for about 18 years. I believe it has helped slowed down hair loss (receding hairline). In the last two years, I have had moderate hair loss and do not believe that rogaine is effective anymore. Given my age, what would be most effective, propecia or PRP? I'm somewhat concerned about the side effects related to prostate/cancer with Pro...The PRP does not seem very effective from a growth perspective based on some of the pics I've seen. Thanks for the advice!
