Porcelain veneers (emax Bl3) look natural indoors, but flat/less real in bright sunny outdoor lighting. So I just received some veneers a couple months ago, they turned out a amazing. Indoors they look great, nice natural shine and not too white. Outdoors though in sunlight, they look super white and flat. Like you can tell they are veneers. Obviously sunlight can show the detail in anything, but it seems like the porcelain isnt translucent enough? To my knowledge emax is less translucent than feldspathic. So would change could make the emax in sunlight look more natural? Thank you!
I have really bad enamel. My teeth are very translucent so I've been thinking about veneers for awhile. I fear they'll look fake and of course I fear the cost. How much am I looking at financially if I'm interested in a full mouth, or maybe just the top?
I had 20 porcelain veneers placed about a month ago. I went to a reputable cosmetic dentist and Im not thrilled with them. I feel the top front 4 are too translucent for my liking. The shade was supposedly OM3 but it looks dull and yellow in certain lighting. Im nervous about getting them redone (I cannot afford to do all 20 but maybe I can redo the top front 6) and I still have bad sensitivity/discomfort. Can I get those 6 redone slightly more opaque and lighter or will it look too odd?
I am due to get 8 eMax porcelain veneers on top teeth. I am getting my teeth whitened prior to this to lighten my teeth as much as possible. I have read a number of reviews about emax veneers saying that they have not ended up looking as white or bright as they thought they would. My question is whether due to the translucency of the emax veneers should or could a brighter shade be selected to account for this and the result be less bright than the same in an opaque veneer?
I am not liking how it looks like there is a line drawn on my 4 front teeth with the translucency. I know this is meant to look natural but not to me. My dentist said he will redo if I'm not happy. Am I overreacting? I would like more opinions on this since I only see questions about those complaining of opaqueness
I got my veneers put on about 2 weeks ago. At first I thought they looked good, as I got to look in a quick mirror for a minute before they cemented them on. Prior to this I had gotten a wax up and they were too round, so I asked the dentist to square them off. My result came out nothing like my wax up and what he and I had talked about. First, rounder than I wanted. 2nd, one is thinner than other tooth and one tooth sticks out further than the other. Dentist says they are fine. No one has perfect teeth.
Are there alternatives? My dentist is replacing my veneers because they are yellow and bulky. He's been shaving down the veneers to see if he can achieve the shape I desire before making new impressions. During this process he shaved down so far that you can see some show through. He said once the veneers are removed he will do more prep on that tooth but will probably go with opaque veneers to make sure you can't see that tooth. I don't want opaque veneers. Any suggestions?
I've had laminate veneers done twice, shade BL3. I had them re-done as they weren't fitted properly, but now the shade is darker, despite the dentist saying they have been fitted in the same way with the same shade BL3. I think it's due to 1 the translucency of the veneer / cement used and/or 2 my natural tooth colour darkening over time, therefore now showing through more. Can anyone offer any advice please? Would whitening the BACKS of my real teeth help at all?
