Not crazy about translucency and shade of veneers. Can I get 6 redone slightly more opaque and lighter or will it look too odd?

I had 20 porcelain veneers placed about a month ago. I went to a reputable cosmetic dentist and I’m not thrilled with them. I feel the top front 4 are too translucent for my liking. The shade was supposedly OM3 but it looks dull and yellow in certain lighting. I’m nervous about getting them redone (I cannot afford to do all 20 but maybe I can redo the top front 6) and I still have bad sensitivity/discomfort. Can I get those 6 redone slightly more opaque and lighter or will it look too odd?

So sorry that you aren't happy with your veneers.  You should go back to your dentist and express your concerns.  Hopefully they can help you out in some way.  If you are still having sensitivity then you also need to make sure you have that checked out and looked at.  But yes, you can absolutely have them redone and have new ones placed, but it's best to start once your dentist can figure out where the sensitivity is coming from first.Also, were you given the option to look at them in your mouth without them being permanently cemented?  That's a big step you don't want to miss and it's a big step to make sure is not skipped if you have them redone! you should have the opportunity to approve the restorations before they are permanently put in.  Hope this was helpful for you

Go back to the dentist. Did you approve them before they were cemented? If I have a patient whom doesn't like the veneers at try in we send them back to the lab. He should be willing to work with you to give you what you want.
