I had a total thyroidectomy three weeks ago, 11/21/2017. After two weeks, the surgeon removed the Steristrips on the incision. The incision looked good. But in a few days, I noticed that the skin above and below the incision is very crepey. My Thyroid was very large, and I am very thin, so the surgeon removed some skin during the thyroidectomy. Will this crepey skin get better on it's own? If not, what treatment will improve it's appearance? I plan to start Silagen sheets in a few days.
I had a lower facelift and platysmaplasty in July of 2022. I have given my body 15 months to heal but Im not sure if I need more time. I have a lump in my neck (too high to be thyroid) and I am still a little bumpy/uneven under my chin along with a little divot. I asked my doctor about the lump, and he said I should speak to my primary care physician. Have you seen anything like this before with a neck lift? Is a revision necessary to smooth out the lumps? Thanks.
In 2017 I had thyroid surgery to remove a tumor and half my thyroid. I had gained 60 pounds over the 3 years and recently I have lost 40 pounds. June 2019 I had Kybella injections to help with my double chin. I feel like it wasn't effective and I don't wish to go this route again. Under my chin has gotten worse since I lost weight it seems like. I'm wondering about options that can get rid of this long term + help tighten my neck and jowls. I am 26. Thank you for your help!
2 years ago I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and i had a my entire thyroid removed along with a few hundred lymph nodes. Since the surgery, my jaw and neck shape had changed dramatically and quite frankly i hate it. its my biggest insecurity and i want to know what can be done to fix the shape of my face. i have a lot of what i assume is scar tissue under my neck as it is very hard and stiff unlike fat would be. its like a slanted line straight from my chin to the base of my neck
Ive always had a strange looking neck. When I was young my parents would so my doctors to check my thyroid levels and they would always come out normal. Id get teased about it as a child and Im 20 now and I still do by my family. I am tired of wearing makeup and jewelry over it. I want to know which procedure I can get done to remove my neck fat and ugly appearance.
After having my thyroid removed the shape of my neck and chin have changed. I feel like I have a big double chin , but there doesn't seem to be much fat. I look best when pulling up skin on both sides by back of jaw. What type of procedure would be best for this issue??
Was going to have a neck lift this year, sadly am having thyroid removal surgery & left neck dissection which means my scar will be higher & from center to left; no RAI. My questions 1: how long do I have to wait for an all clear for a neck lift? 2: will the scar keep me from having a neck lift? 3. I was planning on having a breast lift & reduction too, but my friend who had same said she didn't need a neck lift after breast job, I only have a little loose skin under chin. Advise?
