What can I do to fix my jawline/neck post thyroidectomy? (photos)

2 years ago I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and i had a my entire thyroid removed along with a few hundred lymph nodes. Since the surgery, my jaw and neck shape had changed dramatically and quite frankly i hate it. it’s my biggest insecurity and i want to know what can be done to fix the shape of my face. i have a lot of what i assume is scar tissue under my neck as it is very hard and stiff unlike fat would be. it’s like a slanted line straight from my chin to the base of my neck

If you’re seeking more definition to your neck, one solution would be a necklift. However, to be certain, a personal consultation would be needed.

Based on these photos, it looks that best option would be to consider neck lift and chin implant. Neck lift would allow  correction of deep scar deformity  and accessory fat removal, while implant would improve chin projection and jawline. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation and face and neck lift is recommended. Good luck.

Much more information is needed such as the exact type of procedure you had and where the lymph nodes were removed, and whether not You had any radiation therapy to your neck. It's also important to get clearance from your thyroid surgeon to make sure you do not have a recurrence in the neck before undergoing any elective surgery in that area. The limited photographs demonstrate fat deposits in the  neck located above and below the platysma muscle in addition to a recessive chin profile. Consider placement of chin implant augment the chin forward and a necklift procedure which accomplishes removal of fat above the muscle with liposuction, and surgical extraction of fat below the muscle which also includes a platysma plasty.

The submental fullness is the primary area which you demonstrate in your pictures. That combined with a modestly recessed chin creates  a lack of jawline/neck shape. The combination fo chin augmentation combined with a submetntoplasty (neck/jawline liposuction with muscle tightening) is the combination of procedures that would help the most. The best type of chin augmentation to help the obtuse neck is a sliding genioplasty.
