I got surgery in New York City and I live 300 miles away. I was told the average time for drain removal was 7-10 days and I planned for 12 days here. I'm on day 10 and still have too much fluid for the drain to be removed. I can't come back to NYC from Maryland/ Washington, DC and I can't stay. Any idea where I can get the drains removed where I am? My surgeon said to go to my primary doc but she says she's not comfortable with it. Please offer some helpful, non- judgemental advice. Thank you.
Hi...I had a mini tt on Dec 22nd...I went home with a drain for a wk n had it removed...I developed a seroma at almost 3 wks post op and went back to my ps and he put me back under on Fri Jan 9th...drained my seroma and sent me home with another drain...its been 4 days tmrw and my drain is not putting out anymore fluid in the last 24hrs....my post op apt is in 4 days..if my fluid is gone and my drain keeps staying dry, can it stay in till my post op without giving me a problem?
Drain tube came apart from suction bulb, I'm 7 days post op from a mini tummy tuck and Lipo. I don't have much drainage but all blood in the tube went back into my Incision area, I felt it a bit. Will I be okay? I'm actually due to have it taken out 12/17.
Hello! I am 3 week PO from a mini tummy tuck. I have had a seroma since my drain was removed at 10 days PO. The first time I had the seroma drained it came back right away, bigger than ever. I had it drained for the second time 3 days ago and no fluid has returned. I'm also regaining feeling in the area that the seroma used to be. Am I in the clear with this or could it still come back? Thank you!
They took my drain out 6 days ago and the hole closed. Lastnight I came out the shower and it had started to bleed dark watery blood. It's still bleeding now. I don't have anything that looks like a seroma. I'm actually healing well And my incision scar is fine. I'm going to the drs today to get it checked. I'm panicking reading all the stories on here about infections ect.
I am 3 weeks post mini tummy tuck with lipo, NO m/r. Ever since my drain was removed two weeks ago, the drain site has been more puffy than the other side. I thought it would have gone down by now but Im starting to worry it might be here to stay. Is this likely just inflammation/ swelling from where the drain was that will go away with time or could it be scar tissue that ultimately will remain?
Hi doctors! Today makes 13 days post op for a mini TT. When I had my full TT I didnt get the drain removed until around 25 days post op. I can tell that I am draining a little less each day, but the darkness in hue is somewhat concerning. I got my hemoglobin checked yesterday and it has gone up 1.4 gdl in a week (I am also on my cycle) so I don't think I'm bleeding internally. Any idea what can be causing this?
I had my mini (no new belly button) otherwise basically a full...done on 1/27/17, w/Lipo and diastis repair. I had a hematoma develop right away. Had one drain put in during op and removed after 2 weeks. There's still a bulge where the hematoma was and the pleating at the ends of incision are my 2 biggest concerns right now. The end of the scar the skin still seems loose... hoping I don't need a revision. I'm massaging the bulge and hard spots from hematoma and shearing Lipo in stomach.
I have a relatively small pooch right above my mini TT incision, 2.5 weeks post opp. When I push on it, I can see/feel water swishing around. I went to see my PS five days ago, and she said she didn't see the need to drain it, and that it would resolve on its own. Her perspective is that draining it would be invasive, and potentially nothing would come out. It has stayed the same for the last five days with no improvement. Just wondering if other doctors would also leave it alone?
I had a mini tt march 10th, 13 days post i had to get a drain put in, i had it for 2 weeks and just got it removed 2 days ago. I just started to develop more fluid, I am wearing 3 compression binders 24/7 and eating tons of protein. Any advice on how to keep the fluid from building up?
