I'm currently have my fourth abscess under my left arm (armpit). I had three surgery already the doctors who did the test on the pus from the abscess say that it is mercer and that I am prone to getting them. I know it comes from cuts, such as shaving for example. But every since my first surgery, I'll wax my underarm (not constantly). When I went to my pediatrician recently, she said that the abscess is probably coming back because of my thick curly hair is growing back in.
For the past 8 months I have had 7 abscess/boils - 5 of which were on my labia. My doctor prescribed me an antibiotic for MERSA and informed me that I could possibly need my Bartholin's glad removed. My question is, if I continue to suffer from the boils is laser hair removal a positive option for me or how can I tell if I do indeed need my Bartholin's gland removed?
I am an otherwise healthy, young male of color that is prone to recurrent folliculitis located along the lateral border of my perineum. It reoccurs almost yearly, for a 3 year period now, and results in an abscess in the same area and pattern. As opposed to most cases I've reviewed, I do not shave the area. I would like to avoid another incsion and drainage, as well as the discomfort associated with the abscess, am considering LHR. Do I sound like a possible candidate, given my 'different' circumstance?
