I started Invisalign 15 weeks ago and believe it has torn down my enamel. My teeth are stained as well and they have a clear hue towards the bottom - my dentist said it is my enamel starting to wear down. One doctor said this was common due to my bite being corrected. Is there anything I can do to reverse this? Can I still whiten my teeth?
when getting my attachments for invisalign, the tech poured an entire glue syringe in my mouth by mistake so she called the orthodontist and he had to scrape it all out with a drill, I go back home, and first thing I notice is that my 2 upper front teeth feel different, my tounge just doesn't glide on them smoothly like before so I take a mirror and I can clearly see that my teeth are not shiny like they used to be, there is a clear line where he stopped the drilling, they look awful, help!!
The gumline is too low over my top canine teeth. A periodontist said a gumlift cannot bedone without veneers due to insufficient enamel. Gumlift can be done over central incisors. Can the canine teeth be raised with Invisalign or are metal braces required?
I just picked up my Invisalign Express trays yesterday and had attachments placed (2 upper, 4 lower). I was concerned about damage to the enamel upon removal, even at the time of putting them on. Unfortunately, today, I had two removed and replaced by the orthodontist, who assued me there would be no damage. Well, immediately after he replaced them, I could see that my tooth surface on both teeth was dull, lacked shine and was dried out. Is this permanent??? Or, do they need to re-mineralize?
This question relates to residual Invisalign IPR been bonded by the destist. I am looking for a second opinion. I want to remove the bonding and close the gaps with traditional braces (if it is possible). I found an orthodontist. Over the phone I was assured that it could be removed without damaging my teeth. But she still needs to see me and take xrays. I am scare of loosing any more enamel. I would like some input from other doctors. please!! I am really nervous about all these.
I have had Invisalign since April of 2009, 9 months down the road my teeth are almost perfect. My question is if anyone else has noticed wear on their enamel of their teeth where the actual brace rubbed. If so is it fixable? Its not bad but I do notice it. There is no tenderness what so ever just concern. Other than that and a slight lisp Invisalign has worked wonderfully!
I had Invisalign for a brief period but wasn't happy with how things were looking but I had already undergone some IPR. My orthodontist who designed my invisalign also had declared bankruptcy and essentially ran away with his patients money. I decided to just stop my treatment rather than pay more to a new doctor, and my case wasn't even that bad (just a mild overbite and jaw shifting to one side a little). I feel really bad that I had the IPR because I think it was unnecessary.
