I had a (front and side view) skull X-ray taken 10 days after having my FUE procedure done. I was informed MRI scans were fine, and I mistakenly assumed X-rays would be Ok as well. I'd like to know if and how much potential damage I may have done to my FUE grafts? I really thank and appreciate anyone who responds!
I've had a horrible FUE hair transplant in Turkey 3 years ago where the surgeon placed hair where I didn't need it which was my temple area. I had beautiful thick hair there whereas now my temple area is left with no hair and believe the surgeon has damaged the nerves as my hair isn't growing back. I want to try reverse the health of my scalp in temple area before going for a corrective second hair transplant. I live in London and researching trichologists but not sure if they will help.
There are usually vellus hairs in bald areas on the head. Are these vellus hairs damaged when making the slits on the recipient area for the hair transplant? How deep do the slits go, and how deep are the bulbs of tiny vellus hair? If a person has done a hair transplant and begins using finasteride and microneedling where he has transplanted hair, can new hair grow, or is that area damaged with scar making it impossible for new hairs to grow?
Hi there, I had my FUE hair transplant operation done 7 months ago. My hair have grown but Im still not too happy with the results as the front hair line is not as thick as I imagined. Do new hair still keep growing after 7 months? Also, will hairline get thicker?I also start smoking around again around the 4th months, can this damage new hair ? Thank you for your help.
I had an FUE in 2021 and the result were okay. I have very fine hair and not great donor reserves, so it turned out probably as good as it could have, which is still a huge improvement. During the first two weeks, my head was VERY itchy. Benedryl did not help. Starting on post op day 7, I applied some pressure to the itchy areas with the pads of my fingers (not enough to break the scabs). If the graft stays in place, can you still damage the graft with this pressure? If so, how likely is it?
Hi there My skin is still bright red at recipient site 8 months after procedure. Healing is fine otherwise. No itching or pain. Hair is growing in. Surgeon has tried steroid creams and hydroquinone with no result. Also consulted with dermatologist who made similar recommendations and advised against lasers to correct pigment as they may damage follicles. I'm really at a loss. There's been no change in months. Any advice? Would hate to live with this for life.
Hi. I am wanting a 2nd HT to improve the top area of my head & to touch up the hairline. I have had an email consultation from a reputable surgeon & they have advised that they cannot carry out the procedure because there is a risk that they will damage the grafts implanted from my first surgery. I am trying to be proactive & I was always under the impression that the grafts were permanent & a skilled surgeon could work around them. I would appreciate some advice on the matter?
Hi, i am 5 days post op and only just stared pouring water from a jug over my had with baby shampoo. I have only had my hairline reconstructed so i am able to cover the transplanted area with remaining hair. I have tried my best not to ouch the transplanted area but have done a couple of times gently. Being paranoid but is this enough to damage grafts? Thanks.
Hello, Ive recently had some PRP done across my scalp 18 months post FUE. I feel like the effects have been bad and that my hair is now worse. Is it possible to damage transplanted follicles with PRP injections? I fear my transplanted follicles may be falling out after 2 sessions of PRP. Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks
Hello. On day 8 after my 2300 FUE hair transplant, I went to a friend of mine. After about 20-25 minutes I started noticing that my recipient area got irritated. I then noticed I was sitting underneath a lamp that was producing quit some heat. After, I immediately sat somewhere else, and the irritated feeling went away after 1-2 minutes. Could the heat from the lamp have negativelt impacted my hair transplant? Attached are photo's of after the incident.
