I am 3 month PO deep plane FL and neck. Having a hard recovery. The entire surgical field itches, burns and feels tight. These sensations move around but are constant. My surgeon said he has never had a post op patient with such severe symptoms! I need advice...is this truly abnormal at 3 mos PO? I'm worried this is all permanent!
I had a full facelift, with brow lift and neck lift in May 2017. After four months, my scalp began itching, especially at the crown. I lost a lot of hair at my crown, rather than along the scars. My surgeon gave me some Botox injections to relieve the itch at 6 months. I also went to a dermatologist who injected some anti-inflammatory meds in my scalp and prescribed some special shampoo. The hair I had lost at the crown all grew back. It is now November of 2018 and my scalp itches all over now, every day.
I have seen half a dozen doctors, including my PS many times and no one can tell me what this is. I have been on a number of antibiotic treatments, steroids, and ointments. I tested negative for staph. This Is painful, extremely itchy and causing skin discoloration that Im afraid is permanent. It is getting better, but far from gone. thank you in advance!!!
I am two weeks post op and healing well. However, I have developed a rash with small red bumps that itch like crazy along my neck and under my chin. Not sure how to treat this (ice, heat, allergy cream) and wondered if this is a normal healing reaction from the skin being stretched or something entirely different.
I had a facelift over a year ago and now my scars arounf my ears and scalp are iching a lot specially when I tinted my hair, is that normal? I went to a dermatology and she prescribed some medicine for seboreic dermatitis.... Still itching. Thanks Doctor you are angels for taking this time to answer all our questions.
I had allergy testing with preservative free lidocaine to rule out methylparaben sensitivity. I developed red papules and itching at the injection areas. No life threatening reactions just the rash for several days. Now my plastic surgeon will not do a Facelift unless I use general anesthesia which I don't want to use. Is there any other local anesthesia that could be substituted for lidocaine? Is a topical skin reaction to PRESERVATIVE FREE lidocaine dangerous?
I am 25 days post op lower facelift and necklift. I have been using Johnson's Baby Shampoo as my ps suggested, but the last two days it is driving me crazy! itching my scalp, hard to rinse out..ugh. Are there any other suggestions? My incisions are still healing, so I need to be careful and use something mild. Help. My head is driving me crazy...it didn't bother me at first, but now it is awful. Thank you!
