Hello 40s white male good health . I had a bad fall 15 months ago landed on my eye on sidewalk. It was badly bruised and got a small linear flat scar that has since faded but the puffiness did not get better . I had MRI 6 weeks after fall and nothing was broken . Report came back with soft tissue Edema in eye socket . I have since gone to eye doctors and derms and have been given zero guidance or treatment . Only 1 suggestion was possible it is lymphatic fluid and to use eye roller . Its not hard and doesnt hurt . Just puffy and when press on it its soft . Any thoughts ? Thank you
I am a 60 year old female. I usually dont have any problems with healing. When I bruise it usually goes away within 2 weeks or so. Im wanting to get an upper and lower blephraplasty done. My concern is that Im wanting to get it done before my sons wedding. I will probably only have 4 weeks to heal before the wedding if I can get surgery in the next 2 weeks. Is this enough time to heal and not look like a horrible mess at the wedding?
Can someone please give me some information on what is happening under my eyes . I have this bulge under both of my eyes. Its hard to get a good pic of them. Its has discoloration almost like a bruise and it bulges. Can a lower blepharoplasty fix that? what is it? Ive noticed it for like a year and its only seems to get worse. Doesnt hurt and not filler done there.
About 5 months ago I randomly noticed a bruise / small swelling under my left eye. I thought it was just from being tired but it never went away. It not sinuses issues, I have tried antibiotics and today I had an ultrasound which showed no lump or mass or fluid. Hard to catch in a photo but hopefully these help. It does get bigger when my face is tired and puffy but its relative. When Im well rested its still there. GP is unsure. Should I see a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist. Any ideas??
I have been advised by my surgeon that after a blepharoplasty to apply cold compresses. I understand this purpose for the first few days but am confused on why he is now recommending using warm compresses. My purpose is to get rid of the swelling and I've been told by a pharmacist cold does this better. I am not concerned about bruising, but can a surgeon please explain the advantage of switching to warm compresses for getting rid of swelling? If I prefer can I still use cold compresses?
Five mos post op upper blepharoplasty and eyelids are now covered in broken capillaries and right eye incision was cut above crease and has blue scar. Any advice on type of laser and what doctor in Houston can fix this? Thanks so much!
I'm 5 mos post op and not only do I have extreme redness and broken capillaries, but the PS cut my right incision much higher than my eye crease, so the scar is visible and has a permanent blueish hue along the incision scar. My right eyelid also droops now and an ophthalmologist confirmed Ptosis. My PS claims he hasn't ever had an issue w broken capillaries and says my eyes weren't symmetrical prior. To that I say, true, but they both opened an I didn't have red eyelids and scars. Advice?
I had upper and lower blepharoplasty about 10 years ago. I had a SMAS facelift 3 years ago. It's time to get my eyes done again. For me, the blepharoplasty surgery was really tough and the facelift was a walk in the park. When I had my eyes done 10 years ago, they itched during recovery. I had significant swelling and bruising. Is there anything I can do before hand to have an easier recovery? Of course I'll ask my doctor what he recommends but all recommendations are appreciated.
I am getting lower blepharoplasty done and wanted to mitigate the bruising as much as possible. Can I take arnica or bromelain (or both) tablets prior to having surgery done and would that prevent bruising better than just taking it post surgery?
Hello, I've had upper eyelid surgery 3 months ago, and post op had awful swelling and bruising especially in my right eye (left on photo). Till now I can see that the right eye looks different from the left and from prior, the crease is higher but the eye alone is smaller. Also the left eye (right on photo) has a thin skin fold and the tissue underneath is a bit raised, while on the right eye it's more sunken and the fold is not natural to my eye. My doctor tells me there is still some fluid and scar needs longer time to heal. I am concerned it will stay this way and my eyes won't be close to symmetry (as I know I shouldn't expect 100% symmetry). Curious to know whether in my situation time will heal or I will need revision surgery. Many thanks in advance!
