I am 6 months po lower blepharoplasty. I now have very dry eyes. It was a transcutaneous lower blepharoplasty, canthoplasty and canthopexy. I have come to realize after taking a video in slow motion that both my eyes are only blinking part way. I have seen one dry eye specialist and it was confirmed that my both my eyes are not blinking all the way so the lids dont meet. Is there any hope this could resolve?
I have congenital Ptosis of the right eye corrected unsuccessfully 3 times. The last time the surgeon tightened the left eye levator because he was afraid of herings law which did not happen and left my left eye over corrected. Years later and my right eye has a significant blink delay compared to the left eye. I dont want to reoperate on the right because it does not heal well. Would operating on the left to remove those sutures help? I am a 32 year old female.
14 months ago I had a terrible blepharoplasty, I have a little lagophthalmos and very minor lower eyelid retraction. I dont fully blink as my orbicularis muscle is weak and when I blink the lack of strength and lack of contact between the lids dont activate my meibonian glands, so no oil is coming out. If I correct the minor lagophthalmos could this be solved? If I raise my lower lids will the upper eyelid have more strength upon contact in spite of orbicularis damage? Please help!!!!!
Directly after my belpharoplasty operation I was diagnosed with extreme dry eyes, meibomian gland dysfunction, and a slow blink rate. I still have all three issues and it has been 1.5 years. My eyes had been in excellent health prior to the operation without any issues at all. What could have caused these issues to occur? Thank you.
Hi, I had ptosis surgery 6 weeks ago on my right eye. I think the doctor took too much skin from my eyebrow. I was born with the droopy eye so he tighten some of my eye muscles. I think he did it too tight, I can not close my eye it is half way open and it dries out ALL the time. I can not look up all the way and when I look down it looks like that eye is still looking up. I can not blink either. My doctor says it is fine, but I am soo scared it this normal? How am I ever going to close my eye again?
when I was 10 I underwent levator disinsertion for my marcus gun jaw winking syndrome and after that a frontalis sling procedure but that didn't help much .In normal straight position my eye doesn't open enough like my normal eye and that is noticeable prominently. My levator function is 3-4mm , bells are good,EOM is N and JW is negligible. My new doctor prescribed to go through revision sling surgery but I am worried I will not be able to blink or look down , should I go for it ?
