Hi, monday i had my otoplasy and everything went well, the doctor said i have to leave the bandage around my head for 48 hours and after that just gently wash the hair. After the 2 days I have to wear the bandage every night for a week. Is the advice correct? I still wear the bandage during the day because on the internet they say you have to wear it for a week..
I went to the doctor today to have my bandage changed, 5 days after surgery, and my ears were very swollen. Doctor said everything looked normal, no signs of infection, just some bleeding which may have blocked my ear canal. He said it takes about a week for the swelling to reduce significantly after I finally remove the bandage, as according to him, part of the reason my ears remain swollen is due to being compressed by the bandage. Is this consistent with usual recovery process?
I had cartilage excised from both of my ears and had the ears attached with permanent sutures to the head. My surgeon said that I should wear the headband for a month and I've been wearing it 24/7 for 3 weeks, with the exception of a handful of days. Do you think I could switch to night time wear only at this point without affecting the healing or the results?
Hi, I recently had otoplasty (mustard method) over in Poland (I'm in the UK) on 13/7/2018 which seemed all fine but after removing the bandages I have noticed both ears are not pinned the same amount, which is noticeable. (my ears were equal before surgery ) Also, I have on the side which sticks out more, a suture at the top has broken through the skin and sticks out and also it is trying to do the same at the bottom. I would like more opinions on what I should do or expect from the surgeon for this?
I did otoplasty and right after its done the doctor did not put any bandage on and instead just covered the incision area with some dressing taped to it. He did not even ask me to protect my ears with anything during sleep. I find it very weird and very unprofessional of him. Im scared that i will not get the results that i want because of his method.
I have done otoplasty week ago, and have taken off the banadages today. I wonder if my ear is supposed to look like this after otoplasty. However, the doctor told me that I will final results after 3 weeks, but is there something wrong with my ears? Or is it normal to look like this after the surgey? And what caused my ear to look like this?
I had otoplasty 3 weeks ago abroad and I'm extremely disappointed with the results. My ears have gone back to exactly how they was before. Can any doctor please explain the possible reasons why this has occurred? I had the bandage on for 10 days then moved on to headband after that in which I've just stopped wearing. Stiches were removed around 2 weeks post surgery. I don't know what to do now and I'm very sceptical about having a 2nd surgery.
About 10 days ago I had otoplasty abroad. Once the surgeon finished the operation, I looked at my ears and I was happy with what i saw. I had bandage around my ears for 8 days and since then ive been wearing a headband. This was what I was told to do. I got my stiches taken out on day 10 however there's still some left as some weren't ready to be taken out. It's been nearly 2 weeks since my otoplasty and my ears have basically gone back to how they was. Will my ears change with time?
I had my bandages removed yesterday after a week , following otoplasty , I really don't like what I see and am concerned I'll be stuck with this telephone effect ?! surely my ears didn't look like this when the surgeon bandaged them ? I know it's early days but how likely is this to resolve itself when swelling subsides ?
