Why are my ears going back to normal after otoplasty? I'm 10 days post op.

Question

About 10 days ago I had otoplasty abroad. Once the surgeon finished the operation, I looked at my ears and I was happy with what i saw. I had bandage around my ears for 8 days and since then ive been wearing a headband. This was what I was told to do. I got my stiches taken out on day 10 however there's still some left as some weren't ready to be taken out. It's been nearly 2 weeks since my otoplasty and my ears have basically gone back to how they was. Will my ears change with time?

If your ear is truly going back to its previous shape, then there may be loosening of some of the shaping sutures.  It is important to avoid contact sports or any other activity that can result in blunt trauma to the ears for at least 6 weeks following surgery.  I will also have patients where a headband postoperatively while they sleep for 6 weeks to allow the cartilage to settle into its new form.

Hi there. Is it possible to see any pictures, it will be easier to give you a good answer with picture. But i can tell you that after surgery for otoplasty, the ear are suppose to be in good position and not go back to pre surgery position. Good luck

If your ears are going back to their pre surgery look, then something is wrong.  I highly recommend you visit the your operating surgeon for an evaluation.
