35 year old male patient. I had an extended tummy tuck with muscle repair and lipo 360 just over 7 months ago. My abs hurt every day from the muscle repair. The only relief I have found is to hunch over to keep tension off my abs. I cant live like this forever. I want to feel normal again with no pain. I regret doing the muscle repair. Love having the loose skin gone, but this pain is not worth it. Is there anything I can do to alleviate the pain? Can I get the sutures cut loose?
Hi, I had a muscle repair over 6 months ago from the navel down. Pre surgery it measured at 3.5cm and I went for an ultrasound yesterday and it measured 2cm. Is this an acceptable gap within normal perimeters or did the plastic surgeon mess up? Or could it still be scar tissue between the muscles showing as a 2cm gap?
I had laparotomy 13 months ago with colostomy, then 5 months later had colostomy reversed with another open abdominal incision. My belly is bulging out, more so on the right, so there's asymmetry. I understand that after two abdominal surgeries I didn't expect my belly to look great but it seems to really bulge out much more than I expected. I'm 5'2 128 lbs.
I had diastisis and umbilical hernia repair in Lithuania on 8/2/23. I left on 8/7; noticed a seroma on 8/9. It was drained on 8/21(hard to find surgeon to drain). A 2nd seroma formed in late Sept/Oct but it was reabsorbed w/ compression. In Nov 23, I noticed a hard bulge, palpable midline scar and tight skin where the seromas were. I had scar revision on 8/21/24 but only a small portion was removed and the bulge is still there. Can it be fixed laparoscopically? dont want/need tummy tuck.
Hi - I had a tummy tuck with a diastasis recti repair and a breast reduction last June. I allowed for all of the healing time, didn't push it and tried to really take care of myself. After I got out of surgery, I weighed 219, my husband died in November so I had a lot of stress. I went to go see the surgeon in Jan to ask about how I looked, now I look like I have a basketball on my front, and it looks like I have my hump back. I weigh 223.
I had a FDL tummy tuck with muscle repair i. September of last year, in November instarted noticing my stomach above my belly button sticking out more than normal. My surgeon examined and said there was no issues now he says there is a little separation from sutures riping through weak tissue. I did gain 10lbs could this be the cause? Will it get worse? Im scared to do anything physical now and do not like how it looks
38 y/o F GI hx: hypylori age 17, GERD since childhood. abdominoplasty 8 months ago beautiful results. 2 months after sudden severe Upper abdominal distention that was extreme and unbearable, then fullness in esophagus and difficulty swallowing. CT with contrast when sxs worst: unremarkable. Resolved after 2 weeks liquid diet. Endoscopy: esophageal yeast tx & dilation otherwise unremarkable. Recurrence x2 since, unable to eat most days. Could repair be too tight?
I had an extensive DR/TT repair about (8 ms ago). Unrelated, I had an MRI, my plastic surgeon looked at the MRI and there are a bunch of black dots in my abdominal wall that coincide with the stitches. He said that he used PDO/PDS so these are most likely scar tissue although sometimes stitches can hang on. These bumps pull, hurt and have tension. He suggested I just continue to stretch, exercise and give it time to soften. I was curious if there are other procedures available to help?
My sister has been making me laugh. I have reminded her to stop, but unfortunately have had several episodes. I have felt them flex/seize with a few bursts of hard laughter that i quickly try to stop. I haven't felt any pops, but definately significant tugging and a burning sensation. Now i feel like i have constant burning and things seem less tight. Could i have torn? I had a very wide diastasis (five fingers) and paper thin fascia, according to PC. Worried.
I am experiencing something that even my surgeon cant explain and said shes never seen. My stomach is swelling more and more as the ay progresses. It doesnt hurt. Its uncomfortable and not pretty. It feels like theres a lump. I had a diastasis recti repair with my tummy tuck. I was told to stay away from dairy. My option is to go through the surgery again, which I dont want to do, to try and fix it. Pictures are below.
