I had extractions done on teeth #2 & #3 with bone graft and membrane. Followed up 2 weeks post op and one stitch was removed, but said the remaining stitches were still holding in the membrane and would be removed in an additional 4 weeks if they had not fallen out sooner. Is there any benefit to keeping the membrane and stitches in for over 3 weeks post op? There's no pain or infection, gums feel good, but the stitches are quite irritating and continually aggravate the cheek.
On July 31st I had an implant placed in my upper jaw. Three weeks later it came out. I went back to the oral surgeon and he put in a bone graft. After 2 weeks the bone graft fell out. What is making this process so difficult? I am not chewing on that side so I don't know why it would keep failing.
4 days ago I had two front teeth extracted on the bottom. Day 3 I sneezed pretty hard. The bone grafts seemed to loosen. Day 4 I finally ate solid food and it seems I may have knocked out one of the grafts. It was loose prior to eating. Now theres very little white grains left in the extraction hole left. What should I do?
The doc added bone graft material into the hole. However, they started to fall out piece by piece on the third day after the seal came off, and now, I dont think there are anything left in the hole. I supposed to see him in a week for a follow up. Should I ask to see him early? If the bone graft were gone, how would the bone grow? Thank you.
I have a tooth, #19, that is going to be extracted wednesday. I know that I need a dental implant and a bone graft first, but I need to wait a couple of weeks between extracting the tooth and getting the graft. Primarily because the I can't get the extraction done in my regular office prior to my vacation next week. The tooth has cracked and half has fallen off. It was the result of a poorly placed cavity which lead to a cavity underneath the filling.
