Hello, I have an overbite and misplaced midline. I just wanted to know whether I can get braces if I already have a dental implant (premolar) in place. So basically, is it possible to correct an overbite and midline with braces if there is a tooth implant in place, as I have heard that braces cannot move implants
I get my braces off in exactly a month. My orthodontist gave me elastics to wear for two months until my treatment is over, and since then I've noticed my midline has become uncentred. My elastics, however, are set up as if fixing an overbite. My midline is off about 1 1/2 mm
I completed Invisalign two years ago. I was not completely satisfied with the results although it did straighten my teeth more than before. Im considering traditional braces to fix the position of my two front teeth; corrret my overbite; and corrrect my misaligned midline. Will traditional braces do it? If so, how long would you anticipate me in braces. Im 39 years old.
I have had braces for nearly 4 years now. I started out with spacers then an expander then the top 4 brackets. Now I have all my brackets on and I've been doing rubber bands. I am satisfied with the straightness of my teeth but definitely not the alignment. it's horrrible and my bite is not good either. Right now I am wearing rubber bands. My orthodontist tells my I will probably get my braces off in late October of this year but I don't know if he even is going to be able to fix my midlines...
My orthodontist has just informed me I will be getting my braces off within a month if everything goes well. I have had my braces for 3 yrs and my teeth were really not that bad..besides the point... My dentist has spent more than a yr perfecting my midline but its still off to this day if you ask me. Ive heard people tell me its not a big deal while others say it has to be perfect. My midline was perfect before my braces.
I have braces on for about 2 years. My midline is off and I consulted my orthodontist. He said that he could do IPR to fix it but it will cut off my enamel and make it more sensitive. Should I do it? Do you think my braces ready to be taken off? My braces are taken off next month. Should I ask for him to file my teeth? Thank you.
Yesterday, I got braces on for the 2nd time. I wore braces for 3 years, got them taken off for 3 weeks, and then got them on again by another ortho. I am concerned with the high placement of the brackets. I find the look a little unattractive. These braces are supposed to correct my bite, move my midline, and close a small gap between my front two teeth. Also, there is a temporary tooth on my right side. I will have an implant in the future. What is the purpose of having highly placed brackets?
I got braces to bring down an impacted canine. When I went into this my teeth were straight with a slight overbite on the right side. We had to make space for the canine to come down which shifted my other teeth. Long story short the tooth is now down but my teeth look like that. My midline is way off & the overbite has increased. Currently my ortho is trying to close 2 gaps that formed but my question is this..can all this be fixed without bottom braces? If so, what can i expect? Thank you!
Alright here's the scoop, I've had braces for 1.5 years. I just got corrective jaw surgery 1 month ago because I had an overgrowth on the left side of my jaw so my chin was shifted to the right. It was nearly 1 whole tooth off. The surgery date was kind of last minute because I needed to get it done before I went to college so my molars are not quite lined up in the back. But when I relax my jaw and look at my teeth, my bottom midline seems to be the tiniest bit off. Is that even a big deal?
