I had rhinoplasty two months ago in Turkey, and was prescribed 20mg Isotretsnoin to take after. I havent started yet, but looking to start soon. I have KP on my legs and use a salycylic body wash and coffee scrub on it. Can I still continue to use these whilst on the low dose of Isotretanoin? Also, would I be able to have the occassional drink on it? Many thanks
I over-exfoliate so much as a teen on top of having constant inflammation and acne that I did not treat properly. I now have scar-prone skin that looks dull and dehydrated no matter what I do. There is a ruddy texture around my jaw and very mild scarring everywhere. I'm really desperate for a solution but everyone recommends what I know for certain would only ruin my skin. I've tried Retinoids and it enlarged my pores and gave me severe redness for over a year. What else can I do? Accutane?
Experienced skin irritation after a 4month course of roacutane while using exfoliating face wash. Skin was very sensitive. Used nerisone fatty ointment for a week or so on and off which seems to have caused some damage to the skin around the creases of the mouth and sides of chin area. Skin here is darker than on the rest of the face and the crease on one side of the face is more prominent. I'm of Indian ethnicity with hyper pigmentation. Is there a way to heal the damage caused to skin cells?
I finished my second course of accutane In December 2011 and is it safe to use Origins Modern Friction exfoliator? On the origins website it says Skin-refining Rice Starch cushioned in cream, rapidly removes sluggish cells, uneven patches and signs of skin damage and discolourations. Lemon Oil kick starts the process of illumination. Vitamin C mops up skin-menacing free radicals. There's no ouch, other complications, no redness or flaking. Signs of lines and size of pores appear to shrink.
I have just finished a 6 month second course of 20mg of raaccutane(my first course was 50mg)and was wondering how long after the course can I start to use "Origins Modern Friction" exfoliator? Can I also have your opinion on this particular scrub and brand?
I have very oily skin with enlarged pores, blackheads, and moderate acne. I currently control the acne and blackheads with an antibacterial facewash (containing Triclosan), twice-daily application of a 2% BHA exfoliant (pH 3.2-3.6) and nightly application of 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide. I am considering undergoing a course of low dose Accutane (0.15mg/kg/day) to reduce oil production and control my acne. Is continued usage of my BHA permissable for general exfoliation purposes?
Is it okay to use manual exfoliants while on low dose Accutane? I know it's generally not advised, but if the person is generally reacting well to treatment, can an exfoliant be added once a week? I just feel like the texture of the skin suffers a bit because of the dryness and build up--very dull skin. Or, is exfoliating pointless because the dryness that Accutane causes won't go away? I really appreciate any advice on this. I love having absolutely no acne, but I'd like to treat the pigmentation and marks they left behind.
