I am 19 and I have been suffering from acne since I hit puberty. I went on Accutane for 6 months 40mg a day because I am small. My skin was clear for about 4 months, and recently i have started to get small comedones acne all over my forhead and nose. I wonder if its related to my menstrual cycle or if its just a sign that i will need a second round of treatment.
I just had my acne treatment (emla) and My doctor gave me 15 capsules of isotane to use for 2 weeks. I afraid my isotane treatment wont work well and gave me bad side effect. I have very bad comedone that deep inside my skin face. I just had laser treatment ( Comedone + Emla sth written on my prescription), and my dermatologist said i have a lot of comedone deep inside the skin. He gave me 15 capsules of isotane. I've came across a lot of reviews and most of them were on months to years of treatment, yet some of them had good results and some of them bad result. I am wondering, is 2 weeks of isotane will make my acne gone away?? and will i get side effect from that?? I am taking 10mg isotane daily. Thanks
I was on isotretinoin for just over a year and had gone from cystic acne on my face and back to nothing. However post accutane, small closed comedones very deep within the skin which almost look rash like, have formed only on my forehead and I am very worried. Should I revisit my dermatologist and try accutane again or should I look into benzoyl peroxide creams or other topical creams? At the moment I am using a mild organic exfoliator, witch hazel and tea tree facial moisturiser.
I have a problem with closed comedones on the edges of my chin. I started taking accutane 11 weeks ago. On my left cheek/chin side things are really improving. On my right cheek/chin side, however, I don't see a lot of progress. So my questions now are: 1) Is there a chance that the stubborn closed comedones on my right side will fade? 2) I used to pick a few times during the last month.. will the red spots go away? Thanks so much for helping!
