Is it okay to get a tattoo over a white colored birthmark?

Have a small oval shaped birthmark on the back of my neck and am interested in cover it with a tatoo

Hello,If you are confident that you are not seeking, or will not seek, a laser treatment of your birthmark, then having a tattoo over a small birthmark would not be a problem if the birthmark is stable and has not undergone any changes and there are no concerns with the birthmark lesion.  If you later decided that you wanted to remove or fade the birthmark with a laser option, the tattoo ink will be affected at the same time.

Think carefully about this option.  In the past 30 years of treating birthmarks, combining a birthmark with a tattoo usually makes it much more complicated to treat both problems.  You would definitely consult with dermatologist who has a lot of experience treating both birthmarks and tattoos be fore you do this.
