Unfortunately, there is not a week that goes by where I do not consult with a patient who is unhappy with their veneers they received by a previous dentist and would like for me to remove and redo their smile.There is typically more time and effort placed in designing and understanding the wants and needs of the patient to compliment their smile then in the removal of the old veneers. With proper local anesthetic delivery and a light hand the veneers are filed away with a high speed hand piece and the teeth are polished to remove the bonding cement.  This typically does not harm the teeth in any way.

Removing veneers is actually quite easy.  Although you should take notethat it does come with some risk.  Anytime you cut into a tooth youincrease your chances of irritating the nerve.  This can result in aroot canal.  If good technique is followed then this risk in minimized.Ideally your dentist should have a good plan in place and a clear visionof how your teeth should look like before your old veneers are removed.This is all done during a diagnostic appointment where your dentistwill take photos and new molds to help their ceramist design your new teeth.
