Redness on bridge of nose. Is this normal? (photos)

Question

I am 7 weeks post op. The bridge of my nose has a small bump which seems like swelling, and is the skin is red as shown below. Is the redness nomal? I dont think I had any implant in my nose at least I wasnt told that(so safe to say no). Just wondering if the redness is normal. It seems to peak through my makeup when I wear it.

Thank you very much for enquire.It's too early to make value judgments with only 7 weeks post rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

At 7 weeks your nose will go through many changes. The redness of the dorsum may be related to skin reaction were the hump was, but it is always safer to see you surgeon.

Dear G,Thanks for the question.Some times I use a crushed cartilage graft to smooth out the dorsum of the nose which is wrapped in a material like silk cloth that we call "Surgicel" to keep the cartilage stuck to the place and the material is homeostatic also.This step of surgery sometime leave a discolored skin for 6 to 10 weeks until it gets absorbed.It may or may not be the case with you .Please check with your PS or just sit and relax since it will disappear sooner or later.Wishing you all the best
